AKDENIZ UNIVERSITY/ TURKEY
1st INTERNATIONAL BOOK ARTS SYMPOSIUM
AND MARBLING ART WORKSHOP
We are planning to have submission of the papers, opening a Marbling exhibition
and a workshop within the activities of Book Arts (Calligraphy, Ornamentation,
Miniature, Bookbinding and Marbling)


IMPORTANT DATES

1. Participants are required to submit the summaries until the date of 25th
February 2012 to the symposium secretariat.
2. Evaluation of the summaries will be done on 28February2012.
3. Delivery of the works: 19 March 2012
4. Beginning of the Symposium : 22 March 2012(at 09:30)
5. Opening of Exhibition : 22 March 2012(at 17:30)
6. Workshop : 23 March 2012(at 09:00/17:00)
7. Workshop Mixed Exhibition Opening : 24 March 2012(at 10:00)
8. Trip : 24 Mart 2012
THE PROGRAMME OF THE 1stINTERNATIONAL BOOK ARTS SYMPOSIUM AND MARBLING ART
WORKSHOP

• 21st March 2012 Accommodation at hotel

• 22nd March 2012 Symposium Beginning and Exhibition Preparations

• 22nd March 2012 Masters Exhibition Opening (at 17.30)
(Artist who will participate in the workshop with their work/s should send their
work/s until 19th March to Instructor Nurhan KARATAŞ, to that address: Akdeniz
University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Picture. The artists can
participate in the exhibition with 3 works maximum. It is possible to
participate in the workshop by only delivering the works without coming to the
workshop.


• The workshop will be held on 23th March 2012. Workshop activity will be
divided into two groups as masters and students. At the end of the workshop
participants will show live-performance and a mixed exhibition will include
those works.
(After 17.00, the preparation of exhibition will start.)

• 24th March 2012 at 10:00 Opening of mixed exhibition which include the works
of workshop. Between 11:00-18:00 Antalya trip will be held.

• The marbling works which are done during the workshos and activities, will be
remained in the University.

• The participants should bring only marbling box/ for the workshop. Other
materials will be provided by our university. (the university can provide the
marbling box for the international participants, if requested)

• For the symposium and workshop, travel expenses should be covered by the
participants,and accommodation, meal and trip programme expenses will be covered
by the university.
•All the activities during the workshop will be published in the papers book and
exhibition catalogue.

• Detailed information about the programme will be given by the secretariat
within the second mailing.
