This group is open to all knitters who are interested in Fair Isle and Aran knitting using patterns by Alice and Jade Starmore, and wish to make a garment, whether a vest, cardigan, pullover, scarf, bag, or pillow, with that chart as the basis. We welcome knitters of all ages and experience, whether you have been knitting for 40 years or have just picked up needles and done a simple project before. There is no set time limit, so folks who knit slower or have other commitments will have plenty of time to finish their projects with us. Posts are not limited to Fair Isle or Aran knitting, other styles of knitting are welcome to be discussed. Good manners are always welcome and the moderators will remove anyone who is rude on the list. Please join us on our journey exploring the pleasures of Fair Isle and Aran knitting!

For our Spring/Summer 2012 KAL we will be working on Starmore Fair Isle designs and learning ways to modify the fit to include shoulder cap shaping and possibly waist shaping. We'll be setting up a database with info on different methods and sources for information on altering Fair Isle designs to add shaping and fit considerations. Please post which design you are making, the mods you are considering, and the colorway you are knitting. This is such an exciting way to have a KAL and lots of info is out there ready to be shared. Come join the fun and create your own personal Starmore masterpiece!
