Description
A forum for discussing birds and birding in the province of Manitoba, Canada.
Guidelines:
The emphasis is on trip reports from within Manitoba and information on rarities. Other topics directly concerning Manitoba birds, such as specific, in province bird conservation issues are acceptable. Buying and selling birding equipment is OK with the proviso that it is buyer and seller beware. The moderators take no responsibility for bad deals.
Unacceptable topics are trip reports from out of province, bird feeding, bird houses, general conservation issues, and cats!
Sign all posts with your full name and give a date and location including the nearest town for all bird sightings. Many members of Manitobabirds do not live in the province and they may not be familiar with local names.
The group does not support e-mail attachments. Photographs can be posted in the Photos section at the Manitobabirds web page. Photographs must have a species identification (unless they are posted to the “I.D. Requests” folder to obtain i.d. help); location, including the nearest town, and date taken. Images should be no bigger than 1200 pixels horizontal and 850 pixels vertical. Pictures not meeting all location, date and identity requirements will be removed. If you have pictures of common birds there is no need to announce to the group that you have posted them.
Manitoba-rba is available for reporting rare birds in Manitoba.
If you want to discuss other Manitoba natural history topics, consider Manitobanaturetalk.
