This Yahoo!Group is intended to serve as a communication interface between members of the Malaysian Mahlerites. Although primarily intended to serve Mahlerites residing in Malaysia, this Yahoo!Group is not limited to Malaysians. All lovers of Gustav Mahler's music in particular and lovers of classical music in general are welcome.

We plan to have a myriad of activities such as discussions, post/pre concert gathering, annual dinner on Mahler's birthday, sharing of recordings, books and other materials, etc. etc. If possible we could organise trips, be it Mahler related or not. We must be able to have fun while enjoying music.

Finally, what really matters is the true appreciation of the Master's music. All the rest would merely facilitate and/or enhance that listening and appreciation experience.

What you can do after you joined this mailing list

1. It would be nice if you could introduce yourself, e.g. your name, where you're from, how you got started with Mahler's music, your favourite recordings, your other interests, etc.

2. Besides posting messages, you could look at the database and see what's there. You may add your favourite recordings there too. This way, we will be able to build a rather good database.

3. Other than the above, you can also add files/links such as a list of recordings you would like to sell as second hand, recordings that you would like to buy or exchanged, a soft copy of your review of recordings/performances, articles you wrote, etc.

If the materials are suitable, I will get your permission to upload them to the official Malaysian Mahlerite website.
