Dear philip,

Again you have proved that you are a pentecost pastor by
misinterprting the prophesy. As per the prophesy a Christian empire
(May be Russia)will fight alongwith Arabs against the satanic forces
of the western hemisphere.
some protestants churches are satanic, they allow gay marriages, gay
bishops and other sorts of immorality and Russians dont want an
institute which is supporting immorality.

Russia is the only true(ORTHODOX) christian nation in this world. Its
also the protector of Orthodoxy after the fall of Costantinopole.

Dear Charly,
Bawa is not in very good company. But tell me which of our church
thirumeni is? Are you happy with the happenings in Houston?

The root of the problem, is the idavaka bharnam at the grass -roots.
I can see most of the churches are hijacked by the so-called
leaders. These are the people who are spoiling the image of the
church. Coming to the online community, the sole purpose of creating
ICON group was to pretend to be the official organ of the church
online. So many ICONites are in various stages of this process in
US. Can any church prosper with them? Its only after MOSC came up that
ICON has underwent some cosmetic changes. Ofcourse you are in both
groups you know this very well.

I urge all members of MOSC to stay firm in the orthodox faith and to
avoid the so-called bharnakarthakar of the churches. Also pay your
tithes to the church and pray regularly. We can do precious little
at this juncture other than this.

Mr. Dodi wrote a two-page reply referring to my article about St Mary, “He
compares her birth to that of St John the Baptist … Mary’s birth is like a new
creation. He was using the word ‘birth’ to signify not just a biological moment
but rather her whole being. He was saying that Mary was essentially a new
creation…. When Mary was but a few weeks old (between 5 and 7 weeks) in her
mother’s womb, the egg that was in the future going to be “overshadowed” by the
Almighty God-Spirit, the third Person or Hypostasis of August and ever-tranquil
Trinity… Egg from which the Messiah’s humanity was to be made… was already
present in the tiny embryo that would grow into the adult Mary… Because of the
genetic closeness of Mother and Child it is necessary that Mary be purified from
the very beginning of her existence…’, etc. My explanation:
First, Mr. Dodi took the trouble to explicate the genetic science so I would
also dwell on it briefly. First, eggs or ova are microscopic, found in large
numbers, preformed in the ovary before birth. Matured eggs reach the fallopian
tube and if mating occurs the sperm penetrates the egg and fertilization takes
place. Egg cell has two ‘xx” particles and sperm cell has 2 ‘xy’ particles.
Combination of male x and female x results in female baby and male y and female
x results in male baby. Evidently, the unused part is wasted. Unfertilized egg
never reaches uterus. Unfertilized eggs perish immediately causing ovulation.
Thus the life span of egg is very short, not 5 or 7 weeks. Fertilized egg
(embryo) enters the uterus and then it is called fetus. How one egg alone could
be sanctified when there are too many eggs together? When exactly the
purification took place, before or after combination? If the egg was purified
before mating the sperm remains unpurified hence the offspring is impure. If
mating and purification occur simultaneously, both parents are sanctified.
Secondly, if the egg, future Mary, were purged of all sins at 5 to 7 weeks in
her mother’s womb it would mean that the egg or fetus remained impure for 5 to 7
weeks. Purging of sins at 5 to 7 weeks or at 14 years does not make difference.
Pregnancy resulting from the union of human beings could not be immaculate.
It always gives me immense pleasure to speak and write about St Mary, the
immaculate virgin, Mother of God. I consider in all humility mediation of the
blessed Mother is the only reason for what I am. Mother of our Lord is always
said as immaculate for she had no sin whatsoever. She is always said as virgin
because she never had sexual relation with any human being. The general
misconception is that virginity is applied in respect of her delivering the
child and some people erroneously say since she conceived and delivered she
cannot be called virgin.
The Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary of Current English, third edition, page
976 defines the word, ‘virgin’ as “girl or woman (and in recent use, man) who
has not experienced sexual union, 2, pure and untouched, and 3, in the original
condition.” Thus delivery is not a criterion to adjudge virginity. Most
Protestants hold that Mary was virgin at the time of conception. Venerable
Church fathers rightly call her “Ever Virgin St Mary.” I have already explained
this point in my article under reference.
We call her immaculate not in relation to her birth but in relation to her life,
not because she was born so but because she was made immaculate by the Word of
God, at the time of conceiving Christ. “Karnathalavane kaikondudare peri,
Garbhasaya kanya mudrakileennum nirgatharnai,” (Sleeba evening). This means she
conceived Him by hearing. He came out of the womb leaving both womb and the
virgin zeal in tact. She was made whole the exact moment when she said, “Let it
be to me according to your word,” Luke 1:38.
It seems Mr. Dodi misunderstood at least some portion of my article and I do not
yet know what exact words led him to that situation. I hope more attentive
reading would clear the cloud. I did not compare the birth of Mary with that of
John the Baptist nor I hold an opinion that John the Baptist is equal to Mary. I
have already said in the article that she is exalted above all the saints, which
includes John the Baptist. There is certain similarities in both births namely
both Mary and John had normal human origin with divine purpose, that is, both
were destined to carry out specific vocation in the process of Salvation, in as
much as the whole redemptive plan was destined even before the foundation of the
world, John 17:24, Rev 13:8.
The difference is that none of the inspired writers of the available Bible felt
it necessary to record how Mary was born presumably because there was nothing
extraordinary about her birth but they did not fail to mention how John the
Baptist was born and yet one is not more or less significant than the other.
Gospel writers considered only what was necessary to focus on the great act of
redemption through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ namely to show
that Jesus is Christ, the Son of God and whoever believes in Him shall have
eternal life, John 20:31.
Jesus said no one born of woman is greater than John, Mat 11:11. This is not to
compare or to suggest equality or superiority or inferiority of John to St Mary.
It also does not suggest that Mary had a supernatural birth. Surely she is also
born of woman. What Jesus stress is, the yardstick of greatness is not depending
upon the birth but depending upon how one becomes eligible to enter the Kingdom
of heaven. Being in the heaven is far greater than being the greatest man on
earth. John was a prophet in Elijah’s spirit who prepared the way for Jesus
Christ, which was an excellent job acceptable to heaven and that is reason for
his greatness. Conceiving, giving flesh and blood, delivering and nurturing at
the cost of great personal sacrifices and being the mother of the redeemer is by
no means comparable with any other events in the economy of salvation. Jesus is
assuring that one, who by grace through faith accepts Him, lives a righteous
life like John the Baptist is entitled to the same honor that John received.
Thus the only one name on earth and in heaven superior to St Mary is her own
only Son-our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Birth of John the Baptist is
remembered in the calendar before Christmas not as a festival but as an event
before Christmas. Orthodox tradition gives more importance how one through
righteousness glorified God in lifetime and at death which alone qualifies for
veneration, BarAsire (Sirach) 11:27-28. Only exception to this rule is Christ
whose birth is outside the scope of human involvement or comprehension.
Mary is not co-equal to Godhead in the Holy Trinity. Mr. Dodi’s statement, “Mary
is almost equal in nature to Christ” is thoroughly wrong and we call it heresy.
The fact that she bore Jesus Christ does not equate her with Christ.
Genetically, human cell has 23 chromosomes, half acquired from each parents.
Mary’s cell was combination of both Hanna and Yunakir but all 23 chromosomes
were taken from Mary alone. She faithfully and meticulously discharged the will
of the Heavenly Father, the very important part in the process of Salvation
hence we venerate her. She is the “Woman” mentioned in Genesis who gave her Seed
to God Omnipotent. The “Seed of Woman” is Jesus Christ. Birth of Jesus Christ
and the birth of Mary are not similar.
The argument of Mr. Dodi is of Roman Catholics position not of Orthodox. None of
the Orthodox fathers and ipso facto many of the Roman scholars do not agree or
suggest the novice Roman position. I do not find reason to take a different
position from that of the Orthodox fathers. It seems Dodi thinks “beginning of
the existence” is the formation of egg in the mother’s womb. Hebrew 7:9-10 says,
“Levi … paid tithe through Abraham for he was still in the loins of his father
when Melchizedek met him.” Levi is the great grandson of Abraham
(Levi-Jacob-Isaac-Abraham). One has to go all the way back to Adam and Eve to
trace the origin of seed of Abraham. Similarly one can trace the seed of Mary
back to same Adam and Eve. If one says that because of the holy nature of the
child yet to be born, the seed of the mother needs be sanctified, such
sanctification process should also go all the way back to the origin of the
seed. It is not enough to content with only one generation’s sanctification
because the continuity of the egg never stops with one generation. Jesus was
seed in Mary. Mary was seed in her mother-Hanna. According to the theory of Dodi
or of St Andrew, as the case may be, Mary was sanctified in the womb of Hanna
because Hanna had defiled birth. My question is, how the one particular seed of
future Mary alone, which was an integral part of Hanna’s body can be sanctified
without sanctifying whole body, other eggs and soul of Hanna? If Hanna was also
sanctified she should also be revered as holy. In that sense every birth needs
to be sanctified and there is no relevance for special sanctification
exclusively for a particular individual. On the contrary, if one says that it
was sufficient to purify the seed of future Mary and no need to go beyond by the
same logic it is sufficient to sanctify the seed in Mary that is future Jesus
Christ. Again, in the case of Mary the originator and the purifier is one and
the same Lord God. Hanna’s husband was the originator for her conception but who
was the purifier? I fail to find God’s involvement whatsoever.
If one insists that Mary was purified in egg form and she had immaculate birth
she becomes equal to Jesus Christ who is one among the Trinity, Godhead. The
concept of Trinity, which forms the basic Christian doctrine, would be seriously
impaired. Could one say, Quadrant instead of Trinity? Had God envisaged a
parallel plan of redemption would there be relevance to Jesus’ passion,
crucifixion, death, resurrection, etc we have proclaimed for 2000 years as only
means of salvation? If she were co-equal to Trinity, what she said about God,
“My savior. He regarded the lowly state of His maidservant. He who is mighty has
done great things for me,” etc, Luke 1:47-49 would become a grave contradiction.
Was there any scope for a second redeemer?
Orthodox, Roman and Protestant sharply differ in teachings about St Mary.
1, Both Orthodox and Roman call Mary as, Mother of God. Yet there is slight
difference in understanding namely, when Orthodox say mother of God, we mean
God-bearer. In Syriac there are two words denoting more or less same meaning.
Mariam bathlus emo d’aloho as St Severious put it and Mariam yoldath aloho. When
we say mother of Dev, for example, Dev being the end product of the independent
choice, will, decision, pleasure and enjoyment of his mother Dev has no
involvement whatsoever in the process of creation rather, the basic purpose and
intent in such process is the biological urge, need and pleasure of the two
adults (mother and father, in relation to offspring). Thus the mother’s (emo)
interest, will, choice, decision and action becomes more prominent than that of
the end product, Dev. Whereas, in the case of Mary and the Son Jesus Christ, the
whole matter acquires diametrically opposite dimension for, Mary was not
deciding factor. Mary’s involvement was limited to accepting the decision of God
the Father. God the father in heaven according to His eternal purpose decided
the entire plan of redemption in active consultation with and involvement of
second and third Persons in the Godhead of Trinity and then that decision was
conveyed to Mary for acceptance. Here, Jesus Christ, the end product has
substantial involvement in the decision making process rather He willfully
volunteered to it. The very basic element of biological purpose, urge, interest
and pleasure naturally attached to procreation of living organism was totally
absent because of the absence of human-male involvement. Therefore the term
Mariam Yoldath Aloho (Mary the God bearer) is more apt and meaningful.
Protestants generally call her mother of Christ, Christotokos instead of
Theotokos, a contribution of Nestore. Due to numerous divisions diametrically
opposed to one another among the Protestants it is not feasible to go into
detail what each of them teaches.
2, Romans, of late, teach as a doctrine that Mother is perfect and free from all
sins from the very moment of her existence. Orthodox believes that Mother became
free from all sins from the time she conceived Immanuel by the Holy Spirit. She
is model for all Christians. Protestants hold that Jesus Christ is the only one
free from all sins.
3, Roman position is that the Mother was sanctified even before her birth and so
she has neither original sin that is sharing the fallen nature of Adam nor
personal sin. We hold that by virtue of birth she was similar to us but found

favor with God and her willful acceptance of the divine message, made her
eligible to the most exalted position. Protestants include her in the fallen
nature like any other human being ignoring her contribution in the Salvation
plan.
4, Romans hold that she is co-redeemer. We hold that she has substantial part in
bearing, nurturing and cherishing the source of salvation by sharing along with
God, but not co-redeemer. Lord Jesus Christ single-handedly perfected the whole
act of redemption. Protestants do not ascribe any significance to the part of
Mother holding that Jesus did it alone.
5, Romans give too much importance to the litany of Mary that is for each Lord’s
Prayer, ‘Hail Mary’ is repeated ten times. We do only once. Litany and Kuk’leon
during the Passion Week are omitted to show Jesus is more important. Protestants
completely disregard litany.
6, Romans teach that the earthly body of Mary was taken to heaven (Bodily
assumption). We have a tradition like that but not a declared doctrine and hence
it is not part of our faith. Protestants repudiate such tradition as
extra-biblical. Bible is the sole authority for them.
7, Romans teach that Mary is now enjoying with the Trinity in heaven. We believe
St Mary also awaits, like all other saints, resurrection in the Second coming.
8, Romans teach St Mary is Ever-virgin. We also believe she is Ever-virgin.
Protestants teach that after the birth of Jesus Christ St Mary had natural
biological relation with Joseph and delivered again. This is the most discredit
one can offer to St Mary in utter disregard to her sublime sacrifice based on
certain deliberate translation errors of the bible.
9, Romans hold that St Mary was immaculate even before birth. We do not. Mary
was born like any other human being and so was not free from original sin. The
mating process or the sexual intercourse between husband and wife does not
constitute reason for original sin. It is a blessed act of fulfilling the very
purpose of creation. This was set up in the original plan of creation as
necessary for sustaining generation. God created human beings male and female
for this purpose, blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply and replenish
the earth,” Gen 1:28. God blesses marital relations and blesses them to have
children. The narration in Genesis 38:8-10 clearly shows that God knows and is
concerned how husband and wife conducts themselves in most privacy of the
bedroom which can either attract God’s wrath or blessing as the case may be.
Lord blessed Manoah’s wife to have a son (Samson), Judges 13:3. Lord answered
Hannah and gave her son, 1 Sam 1:20. David lay with Bathsheba in secret but God
brought punishment upon David for adultery, 2 Sam Ch 11, 12. Jesus Christ
attended wedding at Caana and blessed it by replenishing their want, John
2:2-11. St Paul said, “Marriage is honorable among all and the bed undefiled,
Heb 13:4. Mr Dodi (wrongly mentioned as Psalm 50:7) quoted Psalm 51:5 that says,
“In sin my mother conceived me.” David is not referring to the conjugal act of
the parents that causes birth as sin but the fallen nature of Adam. Adam was
created in the image and likeness of God and was clothed with glory. The image
and likeness of God in man was disfigured but not totally lost due to fall. What
they lost was the clothing of glory. Complete humanity share in the loss and
disfigurement and we regain them in Baptism. Salvation was necessary for all
including Mary. The only one who is outside of the necessity of salvation is
Jesus Christ.
Mary herself said “henceforth all generations shall call me blessed,” Luke 1:48.
‘Henceforth’ means from the time of conception onwards. It indicates the future,
not the past. But for conceiving the Lord she thinks she has no other virtue to
be called blessed by future generations. Venerable fathers of the Church also
felt the same way.
Sanctification of Mary in her mother’s womb was not at all necessary because God
is the one who sanctifies everything and that He can do it any time at His will.
Mary, her whole body, soul and spirit, not just seed alone, was sanctified when
the power of God overshadowed her.
The angel said, “Hail, you are highly favored,” ‘Thaibutho’ in Syriac, Luke
1:28. Some versions render, “full of grace.” If she were sanctified and purged
out of all sins in the first moment of conception in her mother’s womb most
assuredly she deserves reverence and there was no need for the angel to say
highly favored one because grace is an unmerited favor. Favor is not something
given on demand but by the sole mercy and free will of the giver. If such
exaltation she deserved as a mater of right the angel must have said wages or
reward instead of grace. Grace was necessary because she was a member of the
fallen race.
Saying that Mary was not a member of the fallen race tantamount to saying the
one who was born from her did not assume the fallen nature and if so He could
not redeem that which He did not assume. If she was out of the fallen nature she
becomes another redeemer creating two redeemers at the same time, rather there
was no need for a virgin birth, which is illogical, unbiblical and untenable.
Among others, Thomas Aquinas, great theologians of the west, was clearly against
Immaculate Conception theory. According to him if one says she was of Immaculate
Conception she is out side of the necessity of redemption, that Christ did not
redeem her and therefore that Christ did not redeem the whole mankind. He said,
“The blessed virgin was sanctified after animation,” Summa Theologica, III-27:

Moscow, August 30, Interfax - Patriarch Alexy of Moscow and All
Russia believes an Orthodox Culture course should be compulsory in
Russian schools.

`Orthodox Culture is a culture-studying discipline and every youth
in school today is obliged to know the history of his or her
culture', the primate of the Russian Church said answering questions
from journalists at the State Museum of History after the opening of
an exhibition `Patriarchs of Moscow and All Russia in the 20th and
21st Centuries' there.

Alexy II also noted that every educated person should know the
history and cultural foundations of his state.

`If there are people in our country who profess other religions,
they should certainly study their own culture but they should also
know the culture of the country in which they live', the patriarch
affirms.

"The Onam celebration is an occasion for people to remind themselves of the all
pervasive nature of the Divine.\" Wishing all family members & dear ones a
Very Happy Onam! May you all have a Happy, Peaceful and Prosperous Year ahead.
Onam Festival is celebrated in the beginning of the first month of Malayalam
Calendar (Kolla Varsham) called Chingam. This month corresponds to
August-September in Gregorian Calendar and Bhadrapada or Bhadon in Indian
(Hindu) Calendar. When is Thiru Onam?Onam carnival continues for ten days,
starting from the day of Atham and culminating on Thiru Onam. Atham and Thiru
Onam are the most important days for Onam festivities. The day of Atham is
decided by the position of stars. Onam festival commences from lunar asterism (a
cluster of stars smaller than a constellation) Atham (Hastha) that appears ten
days before asterism Onam or Thiru Onam. Atham is regarded as auspicious and
holy day by people of Kerala. Thiru Onam corresponds to the Shravan day in the
month of August or September, hence it is also called Sravanotsavam. At this
time sun is in the Zodiac sign of Leo (Simha rasi), which happens to be the
sun\'s house as well.Significance of Onam Day in MythologyThe dayof Onam is
decided in accordance with the legend of King Mahabali in whose honor Onam is
celebrated. People believe that it was this particular day in the month of
Chingam when Lord Vishnu took his fifth avatar as Vaamana, appeared in the
kingdom of King Mahabali and sent him to nether world. People believe that it is
on the last day, Tiruonam that the spirit of King Maveli visits Kerala, hence
the day is marked by feast and festivities. Devotees of Maveli celebrate the
golden era witnessed in Maveli\'s reign during Onam. To welcome their revered
ruler, people lay flower mats (Pookalam) in the front courtyard, prepare a grand
meal (Onasadya), dance, play and make merry. All this is done to impress upon
King Mahabali that his people are prosperous and happy.A Brief History of OnamIt
is believed that Onam celebrations started during the Sangam Period. Record of
celebrations can be found from the time of Kulasekhara Perumals (800 AD). At
that time Onam celebrations continued for a month. Harvest TimeAs it is a
harvest season, the beautiful state of Kerala can be seen in its magnificent
best. Weather is pleasantly sunny and warm calling for mirth and celebrations.
Fields look brilliant as they glow with golden paddy grains. It is also the boom
time of fruits and flowers. After the month of deprivation, Karkidakam (last
month of Malayalam Calendar), farmers are happy with a bountiful harvest and
celebrate the festival to the hilt

I only pray God that opens the spiritual eyes of our priests to glorify God and
stop writing unwanted discussion. Nobody on earth in the 21st century wants to
read what these fathers wrote in the form. Don't you have time to preach Gospel
and teach true gospel to dying souls instead of discussing virginity of Mathavu
and useless other thing in the form.Write some thing worth that would save souls
from perlshing.100s of time God says in the Bible that my people are perishing
from ignorance. At least now,in the end time, please be sensible to the heart and
command of God.

"The sad humility of penitents is one thing. The reproach of conscience of those
who are still sinners is another. The blessed treasure of humility that, with
God's help, the perfect manage to attain is yet another. And we should be in no
hurry to find words adequate to this third kind of humility, for our effort will
be useless. But a sign of the second kind is the perfect bearing of indignity."

Dear Moderator/Very Rev. Thomas or Episcopa.(NOT FOR POSTING)
BIBLE STUDY #63: THE NATIVITY OF MOTHER ST. MARY: SEPTEMBER 8
From: VERY REV. THOMAS P. MUNDUKUZHY COR EPISCO
I feel sorry at the ignorant statement of leaders and elders on intercession
through passed away saints. How can they teach so when God's plan and purpose
about church is different. God wants breathing people to intercede(ex.Abraham in
BC 2000,Moses in BC 1500,Jesus and Apostles in AD 1st century, church of
Apostolic faith in the 21st centruy.). Don't mix up myth with Bible study. That
is sin.

   >>>That door was closed for ever (Ezekiel 44:2)<<
Please don't twist word of God to justify your myth. This verse has nothing to
do with Mathavu's virginity or salvation of people. Priest's duty is to teach
true Gospel to people. 21 th century no true belivers are interested to know if
mathavu was virgin or not after delivery. For the information of true believers I
write the fact. Ex 44:2 is about the new temple to be built in God's time.If you
have doubt ask a Jewish rabbai.
1st temple was was built (1 King 6) by Solomon. It was destoyed by
babylonians.Ezra built the next one(Ezra 3).It was destroyed by the Romans. When
Jesus returns, the third church will be built.
>>>>No miracle at her birth; For the burial, all Apostles, prophets, angels,
Jesus... to take her to paradise: Assumption. Now queen of angels, interceding,
for the whole world. First miracle through her request,at Cana continuing on>>>>
   Did Jesus,mathavu,Apsotles prophesy about Mathavu's assumption.NO.Don't make
them liers to justy your mythology. 2nd century, false teachers spread this
myth.Do you work to bring people to God according word of God or do you want to
take away people from direct contact with God. Traditional churches work against
plan of purpose of God. God said salvation is only through Jesus. We are not
even supposed to utter a word of prayer to passed away saints. Jesus sits in the
holy of holy and any believer can approach Him any time(Hebrew 4:14). If you
teach against Bible and Jesus, God will judge.Mathavu died and was buried same
day before AD 90. Disciples from all over world flew into Jerusalem is also
myth. When a person was buried that person had deadbody clothes (like Lazrus).
St.John wrote gospel, and three epistles after AD 90. He did not mention any
assumpiton theology.Assumption(body flying into heaven like Elija) of Mathavu is
a babylonian myth and creation of
  Orthodox/Catholic church from 5th century.
Trust in the Lord and follow apostles teaching is the only way to salvation.
Holy spirit is the mediator between man and Jesus/God.Intercession through
passed away people is a creation of traditional church in the 5th century. It is
not Christ's teaching.

   Sincerely
   Philip

dear moderators
this person is a guriella pentacostal. he is like some of our politicians who
ask lot of questions but never care to answer one.We might have answered him or
ignored him if he was ignorant...he is not..he is an evil soul consumed with a
hate towards his mother church.may be it is frustration may be what ever. Many
soul affected by this type of maverics are dying a spiritual death, alienated
from our god and the church which is christs body due to their ignorance.
you have given him enough latitude... more than enough to stamp on our church,
holy fathers and everything we stand for. i pray to know whether we will get
that freedom in a pentacostal form. whether the pentacostals so eagar to pray in

I would appreciate prayers for a new venture in the British Orthodox
Church. We are seeking to open ourselves up to a wider, looser
community of folk who are interested in our British Orthodox life
and witness and who are gathered around us as friends and enquirers.

Peter

========================================

Dear friends and enquirers,

After months of preparation and hard work the British Orthodox
Fellowship has now launched its activities.

http://www.britishorthodox.org/fellowship.php

The British Orthodox Church has been approached by a growing number
of enquirers over the last few years, and it has been plain that a
new way of allowing people to discover Orthodoxy was urgently needed.

The British Orthodox Fellowship is the answer to that need. It is a
dispersed community of friends, enquirers and members of the British
Orthodox Church, who are united in their desire to discover how the
Orthodox Faith can help them develop and deepen their Christian life.

Anyone with a genuine interest in Orthodoxy can join the British
Orthodox Fellowship. There is a small annual membership charge and
members benefit from receiving our British Orthodox Fellowship
Handbook, filled with prayers, readings and useful suggestions for
developing the spiritual life.

Members also receive our twice yearly magazine, and are invited to
join us at an annual weekend conference and our annual pilgrimage to
one of the holy places of the British Isles.

The British Orthodox Fellowship is a means of allowing ordinary
people to experience the faith and spirituality of the British
Orthodox Church while they remain members of their own Christian
tradition, or even are investigating the Christian Faith for the
first time.

The British Orthodox Fellowship is a ministry of the British
Orthodox Church. We are committed to helping British people find out
more about our Faith in whatever ways are most appropriate for their
own circumstances.

Our bishop, Metropolitan Seraphim, is the Patron of the British
Orthodox Fellowship, and the priests and clergy are Pastoral
Officers, willing and able to provide support and guidance to
Fellowship members when requested.

We hope that you will take this opportunity of joining the British
Orthodox Fellowship and exploring the Orthodox Faith with us.

"We should zealously cultivate watchfulness, my brethren; and when - our minds
purified in Jesus Christ - we are exalted by the vision it confers, we should
review our sins and our former life, so that shattered and humbled at the
thought of them we may never lose the help of Jesus Christ our God in the
invisible battle. If because of pride, self-esteem or self-love we are deprived
of Jesus' help, we shall lose that purity of heart through which God is known to

Dear Mr. Phillip Oommen,
I see you are at it again, after a short interval. Welcome back.

>>>That door was closed for ever (Ezekiel 44:2)
Please don't twist word of God to justify your myth. This verse has
nothing to
do with Mathavu's virginity or salvation of people. Priest's duty is
to teach
true Gospel to people.<<<

This is an interesting statement. I'm assuming you know that many
events and objects in the Old testament foreshadow or are

symbolic of New Testament events or people. You are adamant that this
verse is not foreshadowing St.Mary's perpetual Virginity.

Have you read the next verse? Here is the verse in context:

"Then the man brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, the
one facing east, and it was shut. The LORD said to me, "This

gate is to remain shut. It must not be opened; no one may enter
through it. It is to remain shut because the LORD, the God of Israel,

has entered through it. The prince himself is the only one who may sit
inside the gateway to eat in the presence of the LORD."
(Ezekiel 44:1-3)

So I suppose the "Prince" has no symbolic meaning? How can you tell me
this verse dosen't foreshadow the Incarnation of Christ?

>>>Did Jesus,mathavu,Apsotles prophesy about Mathavu's
assumption.NO.Don't make
them liers to justy your mythology. 2nd century, false teachers spread this
myth.Do you work to bring people to God according word of God or do
you want to
take away people from direct contact with God.<<<

As I have said before, the assumption of the Mother of God is NOT a
dogma but a tradition. There are ample evidences for this

tradition, and so it is credible. People like you who do not value
Sacred Tradition, will of course, reject it.

   >>>St.John wrote gospel, and three epistles after AD 90. He did not
mention any
assumpiton theology.Assumption(body flying into heaven like Elija) of
Mathavu is
a babylonian myth and creation<<<

First of all, the date of the gospels is not concrete, and is still up
for debate. Secondly, I wonder why you fail to mention Revelation,

another Book attributed to St. John:

"A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with
the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve

stars on her head." (Rev. Ch.12 vs.1)

"The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might
fly to the place prepared for her in the desert, where she

would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the
serpent's reach." (Rev. Ch. 12 vs.14)

I would think vs. 14 may be interperted as referring to the assumption
of St.Mary, although that belief isn't tradition, but dogma. It is

important to note that the Orthodox believe St.Mary DID die. She was
resurrected shortly thereafter and taken up into heaven.

In addition, for those who don't believe in honoring or venerating the
Mother of God, we must note the Theotokos' own God-

inspired decalaration:
"From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One
has done great things for me—
holy is his name." (Luke 1:49)

>>>Holy spirit is the mediator between man and Jesus/God.Intercession
through
passed away people is a creation of traditional church in the 5th
century. It is
not Christ's teaching.<<<

First of all, there are many teachings of Christ that are not recorded
in Scripture, as scripture itself confirms. Secondly, when we look

at the parable of the rich man and the beggar in the gosepl of
St.Luke, we see the passed away rich man begging Abraham to send

someone to enlighten his brothers, who were still alive:

"Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send
him to my father's house:
For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they
also come into this place of torment. "
(Luke 16:27-28)

I would think that qualifies as intercession of the departed, don't you?

We don't "pray" to the Saints in the same way we "pray" to God. Prayer
dosen't have to include worship, for which God alone is

worthy, but the word 'pray' can simply mean 'request.' Thus when the
Orthodox "pray" to the saints, we are requesting that they

interceede on our behalf. It is not worship.

With Prayers,

Dear Anup
Please bear with me.Accept truth and it will set you free from the bondage of
un christian traditions. Our early church fathers from AD 33-AD 200 reviewed
Bible and gave it to us to follow it and get saved from the coming judgement of
God.
Traditions are started by the rich and for the rich. IOC never had 8 days lent
in assocaition with Mathavu's birthday. Now it is official in church since 2000.
.In many of our churches, people will have banquet with chicken and beef on
Friday Sept 8th(Nercha vilambu). Remembering Mathavu's birthday becomes more
important than remembering Jesus's sacrifice on Friday AD 33 March.Do you agree
with it?
Many of our churches celebrated Onam with Athappu, sports and veg.feast in the
church premises. This is what Jews did in the BC 1st century by allowing
Olympics in Temple mount.Gods wrath came upon jews. Do you want God's wrath on
Kerala? No. Then pray for the revival.
   Sincerely
   Philip

God Hears You

"Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice!"

             + Psalm 130:1

Tears seem to come at the most inopportune times, often when we least
want others to know our pain. Do you find yourself embarrassed,
frustrated or exhausted from trying to conceal emotional pain? Tears are
a gift from God that help us express sadness, grief, loss, anger,
frustration, stress, anxiety, fear or fatigue.

What do your tears represent? Who listens to you and consoles you?

The psalmist turns to God and expresses grief and awareness of the need
to be healed. There is a personal sense of brokenness under the weight
and burden of sinfulness. This is a psalm of confession, of naming our
shame, weakness, guilt and pain before God.

It is uncomfortable and difficult for us to do the deep soul-searching
needed when all is not well with our souls. At times like these we need
confession and forgiveness. Forgiveness is not condoning the action that
hurt us, but rather seeing it differently. The Spirit opens our hearts
and prepares us for the work of letting go and healing.

Healing requires that we reach out to something that gives us new life,
new hope and new pleasure. Healing is the process of refusing to be
wounded. God is our strength, our ultimate healer. Live prayerfully, and
turn to the Lord for strength to forgive. The Lord will hear your voice!

When you are in a painful situation, do you take time to reflect and
confess your sins?

When you don't seem to be able to control your tears of anger, sorrow,
or frustration, do you acknowledge your responsibility and forgive the
deep hurts that may underlie those tears?

Do you make daily use of your privilege to carry all your burdens to God
in prayer? God will answer your prayer!

Lord God, I confess that I am sometimes so overwhelmed by my own sins
and feelings, that I lose sight of the help you can provide. Send your
Spirit into my heart to change my mind and prepare me for the work of
letting go, so that I may experience healing and new life. Hear my
prayer in Jesus' name. Amen.

May the grace of God be with you in everything you do.

Pathway of Pain

If my days were untroubled

and my heart always light

Would I seek the fair land

where there is no night;

If I never grew weary

with the weight of my load

Would I search for God's Peace

at the end of the road;

If I never knew sickness

and never felt pain

Would I reach for a hand

to help and sustain;

If I walked not with sorrow

and lived without loss

Would my soul seek solace

at the foot of the cross;

If all I desired was mine

day by day

Would I kneel before God

and earnestly pray;

If God sent no "Winter"

to freeze me with fear

Would I yearn for the warmth

of "Spring" every year;

I ask myself this

and the answer is plain--

If my life were all pleasure

and I never knew pain

I'd seek God less often

and need Him much less,

For God's sought more often

in times of distress,

And no one knows God

or sees Him as plain

As those who have met Him

on the "Pathway of Pain."

May the grace of God be with you in everything you do.

GOD LOVES YOU!

"As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love."

             + John 15:9

God Loves You! He desires a deep love relationship with you and is
committed to His part.

1. He desires fellowship.

+ "The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to
see if there are any who understand, who seek God." (Psalms 14:2)

+ "And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with
all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13)

2. He promises to draw near to me if I will draw near
to Him.

+ "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your
hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." (James
4:8)

3. God is everywhere. He reveals Himself to those
seeking and responding obediently to Him.

+ "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves
Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him
and manifest Myself to him." (John 14:21)

4. He loves His friends greatly, and shares His heart
deeply with us through His personal love letter, The Bible.

+ "By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us.
And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren" (1 John 3:16)

+ "I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5)

+ "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the
LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a
hope." (Jeremiah 29:11)

5. He invites His friends to be His partners in
carrying out His works.

+ "Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of
Eden to tend and keep it." (Genesis 2:15)

+ "we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading
through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God." (2
Corinthians 5:20)

6. God commits Himself extensively:

+ He sent His Son to die on the cross, paying my death penalty
for my sins, and making possible eternal life with Him. "For God so
loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John
3:16)

+ It is reported there are over 8,000 promises in the bible. And
God keeps His promises. "Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to
those who put their trust in Him." (Proverbs 30:5)

7. His Love sets His friends free.

+ "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free
indeed." (John 8:36)

Father, thank you for loving us. Thank you for having fellowship with
us, revealing Your glory to us, sharing Your life giving words of love
with us, allowing us to partake in doing Your will, and for sending Your
Son, to save us. Please remind us to always put our trust in You, in
every area of our life. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy
Spirit, One God, Amen.

May the grace of God be with you in everything you do.

"To describe it with the boldest expression, prayer is a conversation with God.
Even if we speak with a low voice, even if we whisper without opening the lips,
even if we call to Him only from the depths of the heart, our unspoken word
always reaches God and God always hears. Sometimes, however, besides speaking,
we lift our head and raise our arms to heaven. In this way we are underlining
the desire that the spirit has for the spiritual world. We are striving with the
word to raise our body above the earth. We are giving wings to the soul for it
to reach the good things on high."

Clement of Alexandria.

"If anyone is burdened with a sickness, it is, nevertheless, possible that he
may have certain of his members sound and healthy, for example, his vision or
some other faculty, while the rest of his members are weak. So also in the
spiritual life. It is possible that someone way be healthy in three areas of his
spirit, but he is not perfect just because of this. You see how many stages and
ways of the Spirit's acting there are. Evil is cut out little by little and
diminished, not all at once. All things that exist come about by divine
providence and economy, both the rising of the sun as well as all creatures, all
exist for the kingdom, which the elect die to possess by right of inheritance,
so that they may make up the kingdom of peace ad harmony."
