This group has been started to explore very specific McNamara and Cleary Family Histories. Both of these are families are from East County Clare, Ireland, although the CLEARYs only moved there from County Kildare about 1850s; two Cleary brothers went to work at the Hibbert's estate as horse grooms. Soon aftward, the Clearys settled Cloontyconnaught townland on the shores of Lough Derg, directly across from Holy Island, where some of the Clearys are buried. The McNamaras resided in Lecarrow Lower Townland, AKA Laccaroe. The Mac family had pigs and did some farming, most likely, the sod.
