Mothering Maxim - Goals for Life
How I live today is how I live my life.
Mum Moment - Things we can learn from the business world
Taking control of life a priority, says Jeff Mayer, writer of a DUMMIES advice book.
He encouraged people to take their vitamins before they go to work in the morning.
Vitamin A, he said, stands for having the right attitude.
Vitamin B is for belief.
Vitamin C, courage. "Not coffee”, he said.
Vitamin D, determination.
Vitamin E is for having empathy for other people.
Vitamin F is about having fun in everything you do.
And vitamin G is for having a great day, every day.
Hitting This Year’s Goals
You have just over a month left to hit your goals for this year.
Here are 5 ACTION items for you to do:
1. Plan For Tomorrow, Today: Before you go home each night, review your things to-do list and identify the most important task that must be done tomorrow.
2. Schedule An Appointment With Yourself: Block out time on your calendar to work on those important tasks.
3. Use Your Prime Time: Prime Time is the time of day you’re at your best. Tackle your most important work when you’re able to concentrate.
4. No Interruptions: Turn off the telephone & close the door. (Or put up a ‘do not disturb sign’ across your work space.)
5. Plan To Have A Successful Day Every Day: When you arrive at the ‘office’, PLAN to have a successful day. Your attitude should be: This is going to be a G-R-E-A-T DAY!!!
4 Important Questions
So, look at everything you’re doing and ask yourself these 4 questions:
1. Why am I doing this task this way? (Because you - or your company or family - have always done it this way?)
2. How can I do it quicker, faster or better?
3. Should I be doing this myself? Or could it be delegated to someone else?
4. Could this task be eliminated entirely? (Are you one of the many business or sales people who spend hours each day doing things that keep your busy by working on tasks that nobody cares about?)
Look at everything you do. Spend your time working on the tasks that will have a big payoff for you [and your health], your company [family], and your career [as a mum]. Eliminate the rest.
From A Mother’s Heart -
Remind me, Lord, that my priorities at this moment are to be a great wife, and to be an engaging and encouraging mum for my little children.

... from last time : I keep healthy and well by ….
I try and walk at least 3, up to 5 times a week. I have 2 under 3, so they either come along, (toddler seat on stroller) or we work it so Daddy or Aunty can watch them. I have only been doing it this year, and it has made SUCH a difference to my energy levels!! (I've also lost 18kg, used Dianne Wilson's book, 'Back in Shape after Baby", VERY inspirational! www.diwilson.com.au ) - Liz - Mount Albert MOPS, Auckland, NZ
