Hello Fellow Mobsters, last night and then again this morning, I went to check on Benton Lake NWR, especially the Burrowing Owls. I am happy to report that the Burrowing Owls are still doing well, and I found at least 2 juveniles with 2 adults. On the waters, I saw many a passle of chicks. There were young Eared Grebes, Gadwall, Ruddy Ducks, American Coots, Lesser Scaup, and even young pheasants.Other notable adults were Common Tern, Loggerhread Shrike, White-faced Ibis, Black-crowned Night Heron, Chestnut-collared Longspur and Upland Sandpiper. One noticeable absence, the Marbled Gadwall seem to have moved on already. I did not see or hear any. Only saw one Long-billed Curlew.Sharon Dewart-HansenGreat Falls, MT
