Volunteers needed for Intro to O at Lake Elmo on Sat June 6th 10:45   Message List

If you can come on out early (at 10:45am on Sat ) and volunteer to staff the MNOC booth and show newcomers the basics of reading and orienting the map on a very simple white course that would be much appreciated... you'll get free regular meet entry (and free entry to the park )

The event details are:


Come on out to the MN Orienteering Club Lake Elmo meet and as an added bonus enjoy the Explore Your Parks Day and the beach on this Saturday June 6th.  Bring the whole family !

Location : Lake Elmo Regional Park reserve , Beach Area  with the nice open terrain of the N part of the park

On the same day as the MNOC meet Washington County parks are offering free vehicle entry and the following free fun stuff for all the family:

10:30 5 k Fun run 1k walk registration
11:00 Fun run/walk begins
11:00 Intro to orienteering   (MNOC volunteers needed - turn up at 10:45 to volunteer  for free meet entry))
12:00 exhibits  : DNR, Environmental services, Archery, Fishing clinic, YMCA obstacle course  and more
1 :45 pm  Music with Will Hale and the Tadpole parade

At same beach location: 
MNOC meet with 12 noon - 1;30 pm starts
 $4 for junior members, $5 for adult members . $8 for non-members up to 3 persons

Courses on offer: beginner score O, intermediate score O, advanced score O set by Stephen "Gear Junkie" Regenold and Chuck Regenold

Hope to see you there... don't forget to bring your swimming stuff (and  beach toys)
