At <http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/nr/2001/ocw-facts.html> we read "Nothing of this scale has ever been attempted before." Over the next 10 years, all or almost all of MIT's courses (~2,000) will be placed on web sites for free public education. MIT's President Vest has said that the difference between the MIT program and Michael Sayler's $100 m. proposal is that "IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN" (starting in 2001). The purpose of this list is to discuss OCW and consider the implications of OCW more broadly and deeply.
