Welcome low carbers! This is not only a place to share recipes, shopping tips, our experiences, support, and friendship, but since we'll all be in the same general area we could possibly get together for lowcarb potlucks, restaurant dinners, or whatever. Whether we gather online or in person, we can have a great time together!
A couple of things:
- There are lots of different low-carb eating plans, and what suits one may not suit another. That doesn't make any plan better or worse than any other, and respect for what others are doing is essential to keeping our discussions upbeat, positive, supportive, and fun :).
- Off-topic chit-chat is part of making friends. We start with our commonalities, and friendships grow from there. And that's fine! The only posts that won't be tolerated are those that ridicule, put down, or otherwise are negative about any other member's beliefs, ideas, thoughts, or self. That includes political or religious put-down jokes, no matter what your personal affiliation. But sharing about the various aspects of our lives will certainly help us get to know each other better!
- Attachments are permitted, if you'd like to share photos or whatever. Please keep attachments to <100k; larger attachments can be uploaded to our files area. As when participating on any mailing list that allows attachments, exercise care when opening attached files, and make sure you're running a good anti-virus client.
Whether we are low carbers for weight loss, health, or any of the other benefits of our WOE, our purpose is to have fun and friendship while sharing and learning about our chosen eating habits.
NOTE! As time as gone on, we've begun to embrace dietary regimens similar to low carb but not necessarily strictly low carb. It's all about finding what works for each of us, support, and respect. After all, we're each accountable for our own good, healthy life right? And friendship is a big part of a good life!
