The Men's movement that is sweeping the entire planet has it's foundations in Maine! Make no mistake; -G0YS did not originate from Maine. It's simply that the founder survived Maine! You remember the mid '90s when Maine voters cast their ballot to overturn the equal protection language the state had adopted? Some business owners packed up their businesses & left. Yeah, after living in several of Maine's "cities" & even being educated in the UM system, more than one person decided that a state that could be so easily hookwinked by the likes of the Christian Civic League was not a "nice place to live".
So, let me be clear: This forum is the g0ys way of reaching out to other men who find themselves in Maine (for whatever reason), & are desperately seeking answers & resolution to their feelings (answers that they will never get from the religious/political inbreeds at the capitol).
You see, G0YS isn't a "leftist/rightist" political thing. Our philosophical roots are antecedent to the united States by about 2700 years (or more).
We are a men's movement & the timeless nature of our posturing on Men's issues is so well established historically - that we look at modern concepts of "sexuality" in the same light that most people see cave paintings: Obtuse, simplistic, limited, & crude.
G0YS are about "absolute respect of the masculine". We are men who love men & integrate trust, discretion, & that respect as ideals that must be part of all relationships. Our members are among the +63% of the male population who experience Same Gender Attraction (SGA); -& up until the G0YS movement - usually lacked a unifying theme expressing who we are!
Being a M2M support group, -many might presume g0ys as "gAy-friendly". We're merely tolerant of "it". I say "it" because the "gay-male community" has morphed into a non-descript catch-all with all the attraction of a municipal sewer (regarding moral constitution). Because g0ys have a moral-center; -GAYS often shun our "high-road" message!
