The Maine Coon Alliance Rescue Network (MCARN) is an informal group of cat lovers working to help potential adopters and cats in need find each other.

MCARN (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MCRescue), functions only as a Network, MCARN has no physical shelter. This network provides information on available cats to prospective adopters and rescue workers and provides a online meeting place for anyone wishing to help foster, adopt, or transport available cats. This list is used by many different rescue groups. List members help educate potential owners about Maine Coons and reasons cats come into rescue, alert breeders when a cat from their cattery may need help, coordinate assistance with other clubs and rescue groups, arrange appropriate medical care for the cats, and screen applicants to ensure a good match.
