The Mankato Area Home Educators group is for families in the Mankato, MN area. The goal of the group is to provide opportunities for sharing activities, events and ideas with others who homeschool or are interested in starting. This group is for families who have wide varieties of educational philosophies and various motivations for choosing to homeschool.
Membership and posting rules:
1.Posts must be respectful of members. MAHE is an inclusive group open to homeschool families with various motivations for and styles of homeschooling.
2.Posts must be related to homeschooling. This definition is different for everyone. Moderator will determine relevancy.
3.Members who post must sign each post with at least their first name.
4.If a member has an issue with a post, either with the relevancy, appropriateness, or another issue, that member must contact the moderator directly off-group.
5.If a member believes a post needs to be moved to MAHEMORE, that member must contact the moderator directly off-group with questions.
6.Members who fail to meet guidelines 1-5 will be given one warning the first time. If it happens again, that member will be put on moderated posts where each post is screened before it appears to the group. Further violations of rules 1-5 will mean that the member is removed from the list.
7.Members who RSVP to an event, whether it requires financial admission or not, must meet their obligation or make arrangements with the member who coordinated the activity. Failing to do so puts the homeschooling community in a poor light.
8.Members who fail to meet their RSVP obligations should be reported to the moderator. One warning will be given. If the member who did not meet the obligation repeats the offense, he or she will not be allowed to remain on the group. In fairness to those who take the time and energy to coordinate and to the organizations that host our group members, this is necessary.
