I served in Dalanzadgad at school #3 and #1 in the M11
group(2000-2002). I'm going back to visit in June 2007. Is anyone
living there now, or did live there, or visited there, or know how to
get in contact with a pcv who is living there?

Hey everyone. So a few RPCVs were talking about coming to DC over New Year's, not sure how that got translated into a reunion, but sure, why not? In case you all don't know, I live here (DC) now as do Kate, Steele, Lizzie, Denise, and Diana Fernandez. I'll definitely be around for New Year's, and I think at least 3 or 4 others will be coming into town, and anyone else is welcome to come too. We of course don't need to figure this all out right now, but if you are thinking of coming let me know. Hope everyone's doing well.

In about six weeks, Peace Corps’ Office of Domestic Programs, Returned Volunteer Services, will host its next RPCV Career Event in Washington, DC. The event includes three days of FREE hands-on workshops and discussions for RPCVs focused on job searching and career resources, and culminates in an RPCV-only career fair with over 30 private-, public-, and nonprofit-sector organizations.
The events will be held Monday, Dec. 3 and Tuesday, Dec. 4, with additional off-site events tentatively
scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 5. All sessions will be held in Washington, DC. Pre-registration is required for all sessions, and attendees are responsible for their own travel and lodging costs.
Please feel free to post the attached flyer and/or share copies of it with RPCVs in your network. More information on the December RPCV Career Event can be found at www.peacecorps. gov/rpcv/ events.
In other exciting news: We are working hard offer more local career-related events for RPCVs living around the U.S.; two successful events were held in Atlanta, GA, and New York, NY, over the summer. Be sure to keep checking the Returned Volunteer Services events webpage (www.peacecorps. gov/rpcv/ events) for announcements about local events in early 2008.
We hope members of your RPCV community will take advantage of this exciting opportunity!
Best regards,
Bonnie

If anyone knows of an RPCV who is still living in UB and needs a job
as an ESL teacher, the International School of Ulaanbaatar is actively
searching for someone to start FULL-TIME asap. Local foreign hires
receive good pay and SOS medical but no housing. Please call ISU
directly and speak to Betsy Hanselmann: 701660010 or 701660020.
Because this is urgent, they may be willing to consider experienced
teachers who are not certified. Please consider applying!!
Good Luck!

This was from Democrats Abroad, but the same is true no matter what
party you support - Melanie
Members of Democrats Abroad,
You should have received a critical issue of “News from Democrats
Abroad” in the last couple of days. I am writing to stress how
important it is that you register now to ensure that you are able to
vote in the Nov. 4 Election.
Please be aware:
1) Voting in the Democrats Abroad Global Primary does not mean you are
registered to vote in November; likewise for membership in Democrats
Abroad. You must register for a ballot from your home state for November.
2) There are credible reports that some Ohio voter registrations lay
unprocessed on Election Day in 2006. To ensure that does not happen to
you (no matter what your state), register now before election offices
are inundated with new registrations.
3) The quickest and easiest way to get your ballot is at
VoteFromAbroad.org. The whole process requires you to mail in a
registration/ballot request (single form does both), receive your
ballot by mail, and mail back the completed ballot. That’s three
rounds of airmail â€" you need to start right now!
4) We’re here to help! If you have any questions, just email
help@... (with a cc: to me personally at
demsasiapacific@... so I can ensure you get a prompt reply).
5) Please make sure all your overseas friends and colleagues have the
chance to vote, too. Forward this email to them now!
Let’s all pull together for a Democratic victory up and down the
ticket!
