Lord Rama is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the Preserver and the second God of Hindu Trinity born onto the Earth to get rid of Ravana, an asura. Lord Rama is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu as a human being, as Ravana has asked a boon from Lord Brahma after a severe penace to have immunity of death from all beings but he forgot to mention Naras(human beings) and Vanaras(monkeys) and then started harassing everyone including the deziens of the celestial worlds too. On the prayers of all the beings, Lord Vishnu was born as Lord Rama, the eldest son of King Dasaratha of Surya Vamsha. Goddess Lakshmi the Consort of Lord Vishnu was born as Sri Sita Devi. Shesha Anantha(on which Lord Vishnu reclines), Shanka and Chakra were born as the brothers of Lord Rama namely Lakshmana, Bharatha and Shathrugna. Lord Rama ultimately kills Ravana.
