A neighborhood grassrooots organization dedicated to working for a better world.The neighborhood organization is the most effective organizing tool, the easiest one to create, and in some ways the most gratifying, since it leverages the shared interests found in an affinity group around a local center. This means it’s easier and quicker for people to get to meetings; and easier and quicker for people to do outreach. Plus, there are the intangibles that neighborhood groups enjoy, like the increased chance for random run-ins, which reinforce the sense of community, strength and purpose. There’s also the increased sense of security that comes from knowing that your peace neighbors are nearby. The haul we have ahead of us is likely to be long.
