Welcome to the Living Science List!

The primary focus of this list is to discuss living science books for homeschoolers, afterschoolers and children of all ages. This is a secular but inclusive list.

On-topic: Living science books, websites and documentaries, science textbooks and curriculum. Cool science experiments. Science kit reviews. Kid-friendly, parent-tested science websites. Science fiction. Science resources that overlap with nature study, nature journaling, art, music, math, history, language, poetry, etc. If a particularly good resource has religious themes but you have managed to use it in a secular fashion, please tell us about it.

Please be thoughtful, tolerant and respectful of other members’ beliefs. The moderators reserve the right to remove members who are rude and/ or engage in religious or political debates on-list as well as flamers, spammers, email address harvesters, advertisers and anyone not mindful of the collective welfare of the group.

When possible, please include the relevant book/ movie titles as post subject. This aids archiving.

Definition of a living book: generally engaging, difficult to put down, well-researched, sometimes beautifully illustrated, and written by an authority on, or at least someone very passionate about the subject.
