Concerned About The CONTENT Of Books Your Children Are Reading?
Or Just Looking For A Good Book?
Many of us have stacks of books from booksales, thrift stores, used bookstores and, of course, the library! But which ones are worth reading? Which ones can we safely hand to our children?
Living Book Reviews newsletter was created to address this issue.
In addition to a descripton of the book, the reviews will include comment on the positive ~ courage, determination, purity, respectful children, etc. as well as the negative ~ any violence, bad character not corrected, improper romance, etc. ~ what we want to know before we give a book to a child.
The focus will mainly be on "LIVING" books for CHILDREN which are useful for acquiring a love of learning. Reviews will include both current and out-of-print books.
Living books (as per Charlotte Mason) contain living ideas from great minds. We will broaden this definition a little to include all those wonderful books which are so full of life you sense the excitement of the author for his subject. Instead of dry facts, these books are written in a conversational or story form. Children who are raised on these books ENJOY reading and LEARN painlessly!
