This is a group for home machinists who are building or interested in building small scale model engines using a lathe & other machine tools. Any type of engine is welcome, Steam, Internal Combustion, Stirling cycle or any other type. It doesn't matter if you're building from castings or bar stock. The idea is to have a site where we can discuss various hints and tips, ask & answer questions and post pictures and updates of our projects. Since many members cast their own parts, home foundry and casting topics are also welcome along with discussions about lathe and other machine tools used to create our engines. The mini-lathe is a popular choice among builders. Building and machining acticles will also be posted. I will happily rotate photos of engines built by members here on the groups homepage. A small lathe and mill will be very helpful in building these engines but many get by with just a lathe. Additional articles and plans can be found in the LittleEngines1 group, discussions take place here in this group but other groups are set up to archive the group's files. We welcome new posts and please upload eny engine files that you have access to and share them with the group.
