This is the official site of the Long Island Mobile Amateur Radio Club. This group is established so that members can have a free exchange of ideas related to ham radio and other related issues.
LIMARC, the Long Island Mobile Amateur Radio Club, Inc. was formed to encourage and foster mutual interest in Amateur Radio Communications. The club's goal is that in cooperation with other organizations and agencies, they will promote the advancement of public service and safety through amateur radio communications. LIMARC actively encourages participation of its members in emergency communications, so that the safety of the public may be better served.
LIMARC was formed in 1965 when a small group of hams decided to get together at a diner in Nassau County, NY. They shared an interest in mobile HF operating. From there the club has grown to over 300 members with interests as varied as QRP (low power) operation, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technologies such as EchoLink and IRLP, contests, packet, RTTY, emergency communications, satellite operation, and more.
This Yahoo Groups Site is only open to paid up members in good standing of the Long Island Mobile Amateur Radio Club. This "LIMARC Reflector" is used to post club notices, activities, and allow LIMARC Members to share articles or postings of amateur radio related materials amongst each other.
