We believe that the modern church is desperately sick in the areas of s_x, and money. We will study the Word and talk about the things in church doctrine that are Gods plan, and the things that are the traditions of men.
We believe that the unhealthy negative focus on sexuality within the modern church leads to cruelty of the worst sort. People lose track of the fact that the teachings of Christ are about loving people, forgiving people, and giving people another chance. Instead they seem to believe that they have the right to inflict horrible cruelty on anyone who doesn't measure up to the standard their particular denomination believes in.
We also believe that the unhealthy focus on money and political power is poisonous to the faith. Churches are obsessed with bringing in more and more cash to build bigger and bigger programs to accrue more and more political power.
We believe in the vision of small fellowships loving and caring for each other. We believe God doesn't get overly concerned about our sexuality until we use it to hurt other people or to practise idolatry. We believe that what's necessary for ministry is a loving, caring, forgiving heart, NOT giant buildings, giant programs, and giant egos.
If you believe in the vision of a church free of hateful self righteousness, viscous cruelty, or smug superiority this is the place for you. So come on in. Sit down. Ask a few questions or toss out a few answers. Let's figure all this out together.
