"There are certain moments when you know our Heavenly Father is doing the teaching and you are His student. The thoughts we think, the feelings we feel, even the deeds we do can affect our lives forever" (Thomas S. Monson).
Lessons of Life (LL) is a scripture study/journal (or personal history) writing program that will help you connect your life experiences to the scriptures. The process is simple:
1) Take a lesson you've learned in your lifetime and write it down. (First witness)
2) Search the scriptures to find 1-2 verses that will remind you of it. (Second witness)
3) Find at least one quote by the Brethren to add to it. (Third witness)
(“And in the mouth of three witnesses shall these things be established...” (Ether 5:4)
The LL program is not only an added bonus for giving talks when called upon at church, but it will leave you with a precious gift for those who follow after you, and scripture study will become fun and more meaningful than ever before as you come to liken the scriptures to yourself.
The idea behind LL came from a Randall Wright lecture. Upon subscribing you will receive detailed instructions about the program.
This list is centered around The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). Members of our faith have not only the Bible but, in addition, three other books of scripture which all testify of the divinity of Jesus Christ. If you are not a member of our faith, you're welcome to use the Bible alone as your scripture reference, as well of quotes of your own choosing.
"We have a mighty errand of our own. It requires our growth, our preparation, our constant reaching out to learn from the lessons of life, from our leaders, and from the Lord" (Elaine Cannon).
We would love to have you join in and start sharing your own lessons with us!
