This is a support group for people exploring the practice of voluntary simplicity with the intent of increasing joy and meaning while reducing their personal environmental impact. List members are at all stages on the path; some are just starting out and others could have lived with Gandhi. The common bond is a desire to walk more lightly on the planet, to embrace a more egalitarian use of earth's resources worldwide, and to create space within us and within our society for joy and choices. Group conversation should be viewed as a barn-raising for ideas with all opinions equally valid. List members like to constructively question conventional wisdom and other members' opinions; however, personal attacks and challenges that demean other members or their worldviews are unwelcome.
