And yet another question

I need to order Dutch gifts for a colleague and so need to find a site that has
Typically Dutch gifts including liquors.
I've found a few e.g.
http://www.hollandbymail.com/index.html
http://www.holland-at-home.nl/index.php
http://www.dutchforall.nl/
http://www.typicaldutchstuff.com/-i-16.htmlhttp://hollandwinkel.nl/default26.php

but unfortunately some of them have all of what I want but don't accept Amreican
Express or else they do accept AMEX and don't have everything.
Any ideas of another web shop that has everything and accepts American Express.
Other methods of payment may not be used as it is to be later claimed as
expenses and so has to be AMEX.
Thanks in advance,
Slainte,
Breda

Hello guys,

as I am moving out my room becomes available from 1st of January. The room is located 10min by bike from the city center, and it is in a very international house, with a Finnish, a Greek and an English, aged 25-28.
The room, as well as the house, is fully furnished. We have a huge living room and also a garden perfect for barbecues - for when it will get warmer :)-
Price is 365 euro per month, including gas, water, electricity, tv and internet

Please let me know if you are interested!

Best

Hi all,

Just thought some of you may like to know there is a Kerstmarkt planned in
Leiden on the 13th & 20th December.

Tijd: van 11:00u tot 17:00u
Locatie: Nieuwe Rijn en Vismarkt (rondom de ijsbaan)

I've never heard of it before, no idea what it's like...but it's certainly
closer than Germany or Brussels.

More details here:
http://www.winterinleiden.nl/

Ed was my recommendation. Glad you used him, Uriya!

He also sells all sorts of other Christmas specialties, though you do generally
need to order about a week ahead of time.

He's a very nice guy and is used to ordering turkeys, etc. for foreigners. We
always order at least two for Thanksgiving.

I got a great turkey for Thanksgiving from the rotisserie chicken man at the
Leiden market. I went on a Saturday and he had a frozen 10 kg turkey (WAY too
big). I asked for a smaller, fresh turkey, and he took down my name and said he
could probably find one. I went back Wednesday and he had a 4 kg fresh/thawed
turkey for me, which turned out to be delicious.

Not sure about all the trimmings that go with a Christmas turkey, but that's a
simple solution for getting a bird. I didn't have to put down a deposit, just my
name.

Hi Lynne,

You can get any butcher to order you one so long as you give a week or more notice. Figure out what size you want first, and be prepared for them to be amazed if it's more than a couple of kgs!

Hi Everyone,

I found this recently and my Dutch husband and I were in tears laughing about the Sinterklaas story as told by an American comedian. My husband laughed the hardest saying it's all true - which is both shocking and hilarious. I thought some of you might enjoy it on this special day. Below are the email and links. Greetings, Rippy

Here is some very funny stuff from David Sedaris about cultural differences regarding the Santa Story. The audio is broken into 3 parts. I'd highly recommend listening to all, it's laugh out loud funny, but if you're pressed for time, parts two and three have the Santa stuff.

Here are the links to the "parts.":

Part one: http://tinyurl.com/237wzz

Part two: http://tinyurl.com/cugmkh

Part three: http://tinyurl.com/yhakcu8

You can also just hit "next" or "previous" once you're on the site.

I have a small task for a fixed price (750 Euros) for a locally-based
(Leiden) PHP/MySQL programmer.

The task is quite straightforward:
- Place an one table Access database (provided) online in a MySQL database
- Design a form (password protected) to allow the secretary of the
organisation to alter the fields of the database (with a search for
records based on name)
- Design one query page (password protected) in PHP (a report of
members who have not paid their fees this year)

Please pass on to any IT colleagues who may be interested.

Please reply to scotthatton@... rather than the group.

all the best

Scott
