When a child is intelligent enough to know he can learn, but has difficulty in one or more areas, both homeschool teacher and child can become frustrated. There is often a struggle to find an effective means of learning. Learning Abled Kids is an advice/support group for HOMESCHOOLING parents (or CONSIDERING HOMESCHOOLING) of bright children who struggle with learning in one or more areas. If you want to discuss problems you are having with your public school, there are many OTHER support groups in Yahoo for that purpose.
Children with Learning Disabilities are average to above average in intellectual ability, but may also have disabilities like ADD, ADHD, Apraxia, Asperger's Syndrome, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Executive Dysfunction, or some other neurological impairment that affects specific areas of learning or communication.
If you need specific advice for educating your child yourself, or just need to find a place where people understand your child's struggles, Learning Abled Kids is a great place to be. Please join us!
