Description
This is a starting point for moving my Lazer Tag Virtual Museum to a new home since Comcast keeps doing things to get on my nerves. Depending on the limitations of Yahoo Groups, this may end up NOT being the permanent home. I may instead move this all over to STM's server or the Lasertag Wiki eventually. But for now this represents an easy way to store photos and data where everyone can access and contribute to it.
For the moment this group will consist primarily of photos, arranged in folders based on year of first release, manufacturer name, and system name. For example, "1986 - Worlds Of Wonder Lazer Tag"
As I get all of my photos moved over, I will start using them to create Word documents which will be stored in the FILES section, describing each system in detail. These will be named in the opposite order, namely system name followed by manufacturer and year in parentheses. For example, "Lazer Tag (Worlds Of Wonder, 1986)"
Finally, I hope to produce an "Identification Guide" to help collectors, eBay sellers, and others to identify what the piece of gear they have in their hands is and how old/significant it is. I also hope to produce technical documentation to help people repair non-functional gear.
Please feel free to post questions/comments about or photos of any system, including minor variations on systems already included. All I ask is that you follow the described convention when uploading files or photos. Each system should be in its own folder. Major variants may have their own folder following this convention, or they can be within a sub-folder of the main folder for that gear. Since the PHOTOS section has 100GB of storage, .JPG scans of instructions and such should be kept there while the FILES section should be reserved for non-image type data such as Word documents and text files.
Many thanks to John Falto, who has sent me a lot of pictures of the TOMY GShock / Electronic Survivor Shot system sold in the USA by Hasbro. Pictures are
As of this writing (late June 2009), this group is still a "work in progress" of gathering all of my information from the Virtual Museum into one spot where
