Welcome to the Las Vegas Vegetarian Group! The group is created to share local dining experiences, recepies, support, and exists to help anyone who is Vegetarian, Vegan, or even just interested in good meat-free meals. Some quick definitions might help those new to the subject:
"Vegetarian" means someone who doesn't eat the meat, organs, or other parts of an animal. Some people use the prefixes "lacto" or "ovo" for those who eat dairy or eggs, as these (eggs especially) are a grey area.
"Vegan" describes those who use no animal products at all. Veganism is a lifestyle, not just a diet. Vegans, for example, don't eat honey, wear leather, use tallow based soaps or candles or use any other animal product.
Don't feel left out if you don't fit into one of these boxes! The information on this site and the group's activities are for everyone who is interested. Membership is free and you can join just by simply clicking the "Join This Group" button at the right. You will get email updates of local dining activities and input into when we meet as well an opportunity to try many different foods in one evening. Please don't be chicken as some members do choose to eat foul, eggs, and fish!
Welcome to the group and we look forward to meeting with you soon!
