The Landmark Southern Baptist is an e-mail discussion group and resource center for those interested in studying historic Baptist ecclesiology, also known as Old Landmarkism. (For a simple definition of Old Landmarkism, please see our Statement of Faith) A surprising number of early Southern Baptists held to Landmark theology such as B.H. Carroll (The founder of Southwestern Seminary), John T. Christian (One of the founders of New Orleans Seminary), J.M. Pendleton, (Author of the famous church manual), H. Boyce Taylor (Originator of the Cooperative Program) and many others. We believe that today there are a large number of Baptist preachers and churches who hold to Landmark theology. If you are one of these men, or if you are interested in learning more about Baptist history and doctrine, then this website is for you.
