An enthusiastic crowd gathered in Greenwich to celebrate the LWVCT's 90th Anniversary. The Honorable Christine Todd Whitman celebrated with the LWVCT by video conferencing at the celebration dinner as our keynote speaker on January 27, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Greenwich. Ms. Whitman, the former Governor of New Jersey and former EPA chief in the Bush Administration, is the author of a recent book, It's My Party, Too.

The LWV of CT also honored its winner of the 2010 Civic Engagement Award, Mr. James P. Torgerson, President CEO of United Illuminating Holdings Corp. for his commitment to research-based studies regarding Connecticut's economic future.

Attending were longtime League members, new friends, business leaders, environmental activists, legislators, and state and local officials.
