Description

The Southern Nevada Living History Association.

We primarly exist to support American Civil War Reenactors in the city of Las Vegas, Nevada. Our direct website is www.snlha.org

We operate in conjunction with:

The American Civil War Society (www.acws.net) in Los Angelos, California which is a Non-Profit Organization. Many of our local Reenactors serve with the 71st Penn. Volunteer Infantry. Which was formerly known as the 1st California Volunteer Infantry early in the War. Our local Confederate Infantry contingent also falls in with the 8th Alabama in Southern California. We are currently building a local Mounted Cav and Foot Artillery section to our organization.

and here at home in Las Vegas:

We provide a local "Post War" impression as the 9th US Infantry, Company D that historically occupied the Old Mormon Fort with a Detachment from 1867-1869. We are proud to partner with the Friends of the Fort to provide the Soldiers of the Fort program. Our goal is to grow the hobby of American Civil War Reenacting, and thereby teach a often overlooked and misunderstood part of our History to future generations. In addition we support Confederate Infantry, Mounted Cav, and Foot Artillery that represent both sides. Additionally we include other HISTORICAL REENACTORS from Antiquity/Rome, World War 2, and other Eras.

Our schedule of events is listed on the FOF website (www.friendsofthefort.org), the SNLHA website (www.snlha.org), and the ACWS website (www.acws.net).

We also work with The Las Vegas Civil War Roundtable (every 4th Wednesday night), The Sons of the Union Veterans, The Sons of the Confederate Veterans, and Boy Scout Venture Crew 1855 (www.lvacbsa.org)

In 2012 we are hosting the seventh annual American Civil War Reenactment at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. It will be October 27th and 28th over Halloween aka Nevada Day weekend. Please look for details on the special "School Day" on Oct. the 26th.

Please come down and say hi!
