Heya Friends ~
I am excited to see the headcount we have for our field trip to Caesar's Palace! But I would like to see a couple more of our little Zoologists joining us. Yes, we are doing a few things, but the Aquarium rocks and we have some Sea Life Facts to learn!! And do not let money be a concern! I am not sure if I pointed out the cost 411 in the description on the calendar. If not, I am posting the details below. The strip can seem a little intimidating if you are not used to going, I know. So here is some info:
Parking: Free! Even if you valet, throw them a dollar or two as a tip if you would like. Valet attendants make more money that any tipped employee in the service industry in Vegas. And the majority of their tips are only a buck or 2. Take advantage! Our meeting spot is right inside the doors at the valet entrance. And it simply makes it easy for you! And everywhere we are going is stroller
accessable, so bring it along if you need to bring extra stuff.
FAO Schwartz: We are not going here to buy any toys. I doubt most of us could even afford a stuffed animal from this place, lol. But it is still great fun! They have great photo-op's! And the toys are amazingly fun to admire. There are even many things the kids are allowed to manipulate ~ like the infamous floor piano (as seen being played by Tom Hanks in "Big"). Then there is the candy bar. We will hit this before we leave. But no munching until after lunch! Ok, maybe a piece or 2, hehe. And this is cheap. If you are like me, you will not let the kids fill a bag to the top. I let Justin pick a piece or 2 of about 5 favorites. And it is only a couple of dollars! As a matter of fact, it was more fun picking out the candy for him than it was eating it. He barely touched it at home
(which was good for me .. YUM!).
Then we head over to the round aquarium. There is no cost for this. For those who have not been, it is not a seperate room with a tour. It is right in the middle of the forum's coldasac where the restaurants are. It is very cool. The kids can sit all around it and admire the incredible, exotic fish. Many are very rare and close to extinction. Another great photo-op! If we are lucky, we will see the divers feeding them! I can call ahead and see if maybe I can fix the feeding time. We will need to be sure to hit the aquarium at about 10 to 15 minutes before the next hour because:
"
Fall of Atlantis" begins every hour on the hour. It is an amazing animitronic show that rises up out of the aquarium. If you want a sneak peek, you can find all sorts of videos on You Tube. But don't ruin it for yourself!
This show is for everyone and is free. And of course, right next to the aquarium, literally 5 feet from it in fact, is:
Cheesecake Factory: As some of you know, my hubby works there. He only works during the day on Monday's, which is why I chose this day. He will visit with us, but he manages and works the bar, so he wont be serving us. And he will hook us up, as we had the plan to do a family style type of eating. That basically means we order a few plates, put them in the middle, and everyone digs in. The CF plates are HUGE. You will hardly ever see anyone finish their plate, or go home without a doggy bag. The portions are rediculous! So that is to our advantage! And then of course, we do the same with a few of the best flavors of cheesecake. You cant go to the Cheesecake Factory and not have cheesecake! Of course if anyone wants something specific for themselves, they can do that seperately. But everytime we have done this, the family style,
sharing and splitting way works the best for everyone! We also order a couple of kids meals and let the kiddos share those. Those are huge too.
So do not forget your camera's, a dollar or 2 for valet tip, and $ for lunch if you are joining us! And also do not forget that we are meeting at the Forum Shops Valet Stand, right inside! Keep my cell # on you just in case! 845-9895
