Sprint offers more choices to customers requiring captioning services for
telephone calls; New model of CapTel(r) phone provides captions over the
Internet

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - April 1, 2009 - Sprint (NYSE:S) today announced the
upcoming availability of the next generation CapTel(r) phone for it's hard of
hearing and deaf users. The CapTel 800i is the latest offering in Ultratec's
CapTel line, joining the CapTel Model 200(r) - a captioned telephone designed
for use with traditional analog phone lines. The CapTel 800i works on any
telephone line *, bringing with it the advantages of a telephone with text
capabilities via the Internet and the ability to read the captions during
telephone conversations. The CapTel 800i will be available for purchase in the
near future. Those interested can visit www.sprintrelay.com/800i to be placed on
a list and be first in line to order the new phone when it becomes available.
"Sprint Relay is fully committed to offering our customers with the newest
technology and a variety of unique options to most effectively meet their
particular needs when it comes to telecommunication access" says Mike Ellis,
director of Sprint Relay.
The CapTel 800i phone requires a landline telephone (can be analog, VoIP, DSL,
or digital cable telephone service) and an Internet connection (high-speed
internet or broadband service). Designed specifically for use with high-speed
Internet service, the CapTel 800i offers CapTel users the advantage of written
text captions to help understand what their callers are saying. Other
enhancements include:

         * A 5-inch, high quality, tiltable screen for easy to read captions
* The screen offers a variety of font sizes and colors for easiest reading
* High powered volume control (up to 40 DB) with adjustable volume for clarity

One of the greatest benefits of the CapTel 800i phone is the automatic routing
of inbound calls to the captioning service without having to dial a toll-free
number to reach the CapTel Call Center first. Operators using voice-recognition
technology transcribe everything the caller says into text, which is instantly
transmitted to the CapTel 800i phone over the Internet. Captions appear on the
phone's LCD screen. This enables CapTel users the ability to utilize their
hearing with written captions to read. This process is transparent and can be
turned on or off at any time before or during the call.

* Not compatible with digital PBX office systems unless analog port used.

services:

Sprint Relay Portfolio of Services
CapTel is a registered trademark of Ultratec, Inc. In partnership with Ultratec,
Inc., CapTel services are available as a component of Sprint's array of Relay
services. Designed for hard of hearing users, CapTel users place a call in the
same way they would when using a traditional phone - by dialing the number
directly on a special phone model. CapTel phones connect callers directly to the
CapTel service when the phone is dialed. When the person being called answers,
callers can listen to what the other person is saying, and read captions on the
phone's display screen to catch words that were missed. Captions appear nearly
simultaneously with spoken words. An Internet-based service, WebCapTel(r), is
also available to let people view captions of any telephone call in their
computer's web-browser window.
Sprint is the largest and most technologically advanced Telecommunications Relay
Service provider in the nation with more than 17 years of experience in
providing relay services to persons who are deaf, hard of hearing or deaf-blind
or have a speech disability to communicate with hearing persons on the phone.
Sprint's experience in this field assures Sprint Relay users receive quality
service regardless of the type of relay service they are using. Sprint's relay
service is available 24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year, with no restrictions on
the number of calls placed or call length. For more information, visit

Do you ever need to dial a number which includes alpha characters?

Some phone pads don't indicate the alphabetical letters that correspond with
each number. In those instances, just provide the Sprint IP agent with the
vanity code you wish to call. For example: "Please dial 1-800-IFLYSWA". Sprint's
system will make the conversion for you and dial the correct number, such as:
"Dialing 1-800-435-9792. Ringing 1...2...3".

It's that simple.

Sprint First to Launch WebCapTel(r) On the Go, a New and Free Mobile Solution
for Hard of Hearing Customers

Allows customers to read word-for-word captions on select Sprint devices

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Oct. 20, 2008 - Sprint (NYSE:S) today announced the
availability of Sprint WebCapTel(r) On the Go, a new, free mobile Web-based
service that allows hard of hearing customers to read word-for-word captions on
Windows Mobile 6 Web browsers, such as the Diamond by HTC, Mogul by HTC, Palm
Treo 800w and the MOTO Q9c by Motorola. In addition, this service is also
compatible with the Safari 2.0 Web browser. This new service is expected to help
an estimated 30 million Americans with hearing loss.
"Sprint is committed to equal access to all individuals," said Mike Ligas,
director of Sprint Relay. "As such, we pride ourselves on offering the newest
technology to hard of hearing individuals. This new solution offers the hard of
hearing community mobility by being able to read real-time Web-based captions on
Windows-enabled mobile devices."
With Sprint WebCapTel On the Go, users can make calls using two phones --
reading captions on a wireless phone and listening and speaking on a second
phone. Prior to making a call, the user would log onto www.sprintcaptel.com on
one mobile device to read text captions of what the other party is saying. For
more information on Sprint's wireless devices and select plans, go to the Sprint
Relay Store at www.sprintrelaystore.com<http://www.sprintrelaystore.com>.
Sprint WebCapTel On the Go is an extension of Sprint's existing WebCapTel
service, which also provides captions during phone calls, but requires a
computer with an Internet browser of Internet Explorer 7.0, Firefox 3.0 or
Safari 2.0 on which to display the captions. This new and free service is
available almost anywhere as long as the wireless device is equipped with
Windows Mobile 6 or an Apple Safari Web browser. Sprint WebCapTel On the Go
changes spoken words and sounds heard on a telephone into words to read.
"Sprint WebCapTel On the Go allows individuals with hearing loss the mobility
that many of us take for granted," said Robert Engelke, president of Ultratec,
Inc., the company that developed CapTel technology. "It gives people with
hearing loss the independence to make and receive telephone calls without the
necessity of wireline phones or computer connectivity."
This free service is available for customers anywhere in the United States and
within U.S. Territories. However, calls to or from international locations, such
as Canada or Mexico, are not available. To learn more about this free service,
visit www.sprintcaptel.com<http://www.sprintcaptel.com> or

SprintIP using AIM

If you haven't tried Sprint Relay's SprintIP using AIM yet, make a call today!
You'll see how convenient calling your hearing friends, colleagues, businesses
or loved ones by using SprintIP via AIM.

Simply add SprintIP to your AIM buddy list. You can make a call on your Sprint
BlackBerry or other wireless device that supports AIM. Isn't it neat to make a
relay call on the run?

You can even copy and paste the conversation and email or save it.

But, that's not all! There is another reason why SprintIP using AIM is
convenient for our
customers. Hearing counterparts can easily reach you on the go by reaching
SprintIP operators on voice at 1.877.866.8057. Just pass on the phone number
with your AIM screen name. For first time users, you need to register first on
AIM before receiving voice to AIM calls by selecting SprintIP from your buddy
list then type in "register." It is a very quick one-time registration process.

Besides utilizing SprintIP using AIM wirelessly, it can be used on desktops or
laptops with AIM feature.
As with all of Sprint relay services, SprintIP using AIM operators are ready to
take calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Deaf411 Launches
"Deaf-Friendly Cities in the U.S." Project

What does a city need to accommodate Deaf residents?

NEW YORK CITY (Deaf411) - April 28, 2008 - Moving to a new town can be a
stressful experience for anyone. Challenges are greater for people with hearing
loss who seek businesses, restaurants, and social networks that are accessible
to them. It is estimated there are 28 million Americans who have a hearing loss.

This research project, "Deaf-Friendly Cities in the U.S.", announced today is a
first step towards meeting the need for a comprehensive network of information
to assist with relocation planning. By identifying services and businesses that
are considered "deaf-friendly" or are "communication accessible", potential
consumers who may be deaf or have a hearing loss, will have the tools critical
to making informed decisions.

Deaf411, a marketing and public relations company, has launched an internet
video website with an online survey. This survey is part of their research to
compile a report of "Deaf-Friendly Cities in the U.S." which will be made
available to interested consumers free of charge.

This research will involve identifying criteria of what a deaf person living in
any city needs in terms of accessibility and general services; compilation of
services and resources needed in that city, identifying and listing cities with
proven track records of providing such services; attitudinal considerations, and
other factors involved in determining what constitutes an ideal city that is
fully accessible.

Areas covered in this project will include employment, government, business, and
community services and opportunities. In the video at
www.deaf411online.com/6.html, Michel Swafford describes some factors that a
consumer who is deaf or has a hearing loss face when they move to a new city.
Findings of the online survey and correlating research will provide a powerful
tool for professionals and businesses with clientele who are pre-dominantly deaf
or have a hearing loss.

The project is expected to take six months. More information on the
"Deaf-Friendly Cities in the U.S." project, the online survey, and the upcoming
report is now available at www.deaf411online.com/6.html.

SPRINT'S HARD OF HEARING CUSTOMERS BENEFIT FROM NEW AND FREE WEB-BASED SOLUTION

Sprint WebCapTel(r) Solution Shows Captions over the Internet During Phone
Calls; Facilitating Easier Conversations

OVERLAND PARK, Kan.- March 5, 2008 - Sprint (NYSE:S) today released Sprint
WebCapTel(r), a new free web-based service that allows a person who can speak
but has challenges hearing over the phone, to read word-for-word captions of
their calls on a web browser. This new service is expected to help an estimated
23 million Americans with hearing loss, who may face challenges hearing over the
telephone.

"We are always looking for ways to offer unique and easy user experiences for
our customers. This new solution from Sprint will offer the hard-of-hearing
community with the ability to enjoy the benefits of a natural phone conversation
by accessing real-time web-based captions," says Mike Ligas, director of Sprint
Relay.

With Sprint WebCapTel(r), users can make and receive calls on their own
telephone, cell phone, land-line, or even an amplified phone. During the call,
if they have difficulty hearing what is being said, they can log into
www.sprintcaptel.com<http://www.sprintcaptel.com/> and read written captions of
everything their caller speaks. Captions appear virtually at the same time as
the person speaks, allowing users to enjoy a natural telephone conversation.

With this new service, CapTel(r) is available almost anywhere with a phone and
internet access on a computer. Using any phone, even amplified phones, Sprint
WebCapTel(r) will capture the audio of the person speaking to the user and
change the spoken sounds into words to read. When displayed on a web browser,
the user can change the font size, color, and even background. When a call is
completed, the user can save the captioned conversation for later review,
allowing the user to concentrate on being involved in the conversation.

"WebCapTel puts people with hearing loss back in control of their own telephone
conversations - any time, anywhere - by capitalizing on the convenience and
prevalence of the Internet," states Robert Engelke, president of Ultratec, Inc.,
the company that developed CapTel technology. "It gives people with hearing loss
the confidence to rely on the telephone again, leveling the playing field for
professional opportunities, in social situations, and in matters of personal
safety."

This free service is available for Sprint customers anywhere in the United
States and within US Territories. However, calls to or from international
locations, such as Canada or Mexico, are not available. To learn more about this
free service, visit www.sprintcaptel.com

Sprint has 17 years of experience in providing relay services to persons who are
deaf, hard of hearing or deaf-blind or have a speech disability to communicate
with hearing persons on the phone. Sprint's experience in the field assures
users of Sprint Relay receive quality service no matter what type of Relay
service they are using. Relay service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a
year, with no restrictions on the number of calls placed or call length. For
more information, visit www.sprintrelay.com<http://www.sprintrelay.com/>.

Sprint WebCapTel is an extension of Sprint's existing CapTel(r) service, which
also provides captions during phone calls, but requires a specialized telephone
to display the captions.
