In August we plan to hold a central committee meeting to amend our
bylaws to change the quorum for executive committee meetings, and to
codify an engineering committee. (This last provision is to parry a
peculiar interpretation of the election code that was used against us
in November to strike some of our names from ballot arguments.)

This week we will probably work on the wording of these amendments.


Would-be candidates for local office in November should file their
paperwork between now and August 7.

It would be nice to see you at the meeting this month if you plan to
run for office!

Offices up for election are 14 school boards, 16 special districts,
and 13 city councils. Details can be found on http://ShapeTheFuture.org


As usual, the topics of conversation at this Thursday's dinner are up
to you.

Anyone is welcome to join us for dinner, between 6:30 pm and 7:30, but
the meeting at 7:30 is open to officers and dues-paying members only.
