The City of San
Diego is moving forward with a recommendation to the City
Council to enter into an exclusive snack/vending machine
contract for all vending snack machines on City property. You
may remember there was a memorandum issued to staff asking
that contracts not be re-entered into other than “month to
month” agreements as request for proposals from companies was
being solicited.
Attached is the
report outlining the recommendations that will
be heard at the City Council’s Budget and Finance Committee
this Wednesday, February 8 at 9:00 a.m. in
the City Administration Building, 12th Floor, Committee Room. The recommendation to
City Council is to enter into a 4+ year agreement with
Rainbow Vending, Inc. If entered into the contract, this could
provide revenues in excess of $385k (depending upon sales)
to the General Fund.
We will continue
to update staff/recreation councils as this item moves
forward to City Council.
