Liahona Home Educators is a homeschool support group whose participants are predominantly members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We uphold the standards of the LDS church at all of our meetings, activities, and functions and we invite all who will abide by these standards to join us. We are not sponsored by the LDS church--we are an independent group whose participants are mostly members of the LDS church.

LHE exists to provide education and support for the homeschooling family and to provide opportunities for our children to develop friendships, explore new ideas, and enhance their educational experience.

We are a relatively new group and love to have new families join us. Our activities and events are varied and depend upon what the needs/wants of the group members are.

Possible activities include (again, this will depend on what people want and are willing to do):
Holiday parties--Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's, etc.
Clubs--book, writer's, chess, "return & report," Spanish, etc.
Family Socials--"Not-Back-To-School" and "End-of-the-Year" parties, etc.
Teens--pizza/movie parties, temple trips, Dad's Den (life and leadership training from Dad's), etc.
Field Trips
Park/Game days
Mom's Night Out
Special classes co-op--cake decorating, knitting, Knights & Castles, back-packing 101, etc.
Drama, Choir, Debate, Science Fair, Talent Show, etc.
Parent education--guest speakers on homeschool methods, issues, etc.

We serve the SW Washington area including Clark County, Southern Cowlitz County, Vancouver, Battle Ground, Ridgefield, La Center, Camas, Washougal, Woodland, Yacolt, Amboy, Kalama, etc. We also serve families from across the river in the Portland, OR area who wish to join us.
