LGBT-India is the country's primary online networking, activism and discussion forum for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues in the sub-continent.

History: The LGBT India collective was formed at the Yaariyan conference held in Hyderabad on Valentine's Day (Feb 14) 1999. It was initially called LGBT_India and hosted on egroups.com. Members of LGBT India also helped organize India's first Pride walk on July 2, 1999, in Kolkata.

Who can participate: LGBT-India is intended to be an inclusive group for lesbians, bisexuals, gays, kothis, hijras, double-deckers, transsexuals and other queer and transgendered people in India. People belonging to other sexuality/gender/sexual minorities as well as non-queer allies are welcome.
