The purpose of this Group is to foster respectful, intelligent discussions concerning the truth-claims of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This Group is not for everyone. If you do not see value in reasoned argument concerning matters of faith, this Group is not for you. Non-Mormons who cannot respect LDS sensitivities regarding private aspects of their temple ceremonies may not participate (although the LDS Church's own public teachings about the temple and its ceremonies may be discussed freely). LDS who are offended by reasoned criticisms of their church's prophets, teachings, and scriptures should also not participate. Individuals with an ability to discuss matters of faith in a reasoned fashion are welcome to join.

Please note the following rules:

* Standard rules of Netiquette apply.

* Topics must be relevant to the truth-claims of the LDS Church.

* Bald assertions or mere statements of opinion are not welcome. We are interested in your reasons for holding the view that you do.

* Posts regarding the moral failures of rank-and-file members of the LDS Church are not permitted. Posts on the moral failings of LDS Church apostles or prophets must demonstrate some relevance to the truth-claims of the LDS Church.

* Posts attacking list members' character are not permitted.

* Members may not send harrassing or otherwise unwelcome private emails to one another. Egregious or repeat violators will be terminated from the list and reported to Yahoo!

* The moderator reserves the right to call an end to any thread (discussion) at any time, at his sole discretion.

* Cut unneeded material from previous posts at the end of your post.

All decisions regarding the administration of this Group are at the sole discretion of the moderator and list owner.
