The LCL (Less Than Car Load) Freight Operations and Modeling SIG's purpose is to provide a forum to discuss and learn about how railroads shipped and operated Less-Than-Car Load freight in the timeframe between 1890 until 1960. The goal of the list is for modelers to discuss LCL operations, as well as ways we can simulate these operations by the use of models and advanced operations on our layouts.

The group will also act as a clearinghouse for all other general inquiries regarding transfer and freight station operations.
All questions, stories, or reference to printed articles regarding modeling, operations or the history of LCL are encouraged to be shared with the group.

GROUP RULES (PLEASE READ BEFORE JOINING) -

1. Sign your posts with your first AND last names at ALL times. Unsigned posts risk being deleted on sight.

2. When applying to join group, please show a genuine interest in LCL operation, and/or what interests you about it.
Any vague "I model the ____ Railroad", "I am a __ scale model railroader" or "Looking for info" requests for membership will be ignored and most likely denied membership.

3. Please minimize any and all excessive quoting. Trim all forwarded messages, or they will be deleted on sight.

4. When replying to a post, please make sure reference the topic being discussed in the subject title - Do NOT refer to the digest number when replying.

5. Any commercial eBay auction listings are NOT permitted, but any personal "For Sale", "Wanted" or "Trade" posts are allowed. When responding, replies must be made OFF LIST to the original poster.
