Adam officially declares Fall Migration underway   Message List

You can all rest easier now, as Adam has made the proclamation.

The Red-Breasted Nuthatches arrived in the yard on Saturday, almost a year
exactly to the day of their arrival in 2008. It appears that they brought
friends this time as three were seen. They were observed scoping-out the three
nice houses that I made for them last year, but still refuse to go inside --
they just stand at the door and look inside. I put a lot of damn work into those
houses, they could at least throw me some kind of bone and go in there.
Suet/nut cakes were placed into position. I like having them around for the
winter.
