LCBNO is about natural history in Lincoln Co., Oregon. Natural history includes wild birds, other wild animals (e.g., insects), plants, geology, skywatching, weather watching, etc.

Suggested topics for the email list:
* Observations, questions, or discussion of Lincoln Co. birding and natural history.
* Announcements of field trips, meetings, festivals, or workshops.

Inappropriate topics include pets (cats), virus warnings, environmental issues, or politics. Also inappropriate is posting specific locations that are likely to cause harm to wildlife or plants (e.g., nests of raptors or roost sites).

All members can send and receive postings to the email list. Members with a free Yahoo ID can also Sign In at the LCBNO Home Page to view and upload Photos, view Files, and change email addresses.

Attachments are NOT allowed to prevent viruses and because they can be unmanageable for dial-up members. In postings, members can refer to photos they have uploaded to LCBNO or to another web site or offer to email to whomever is willing.

To prevent spammers, membership requires approval, and postings of new members may be moderated. If moderated, a member can send messages to the list, but each message requires approval for appropriate content by a moderator before it is passed on to the list.

Hopefully, members will be friendly, helpful, and respectful. However, if a member is rude or posts a hostile or insulting message, their membership may be revoked or their future postings may be moderated at the discretion of a moderator.
