This group was created to connect and support families in Louisiana who are UNSCHOOLING (which is quite different from other forms of homeschooling).
We discuss respectful, non-coercive parenting on this list, which are the basis for Whole Life Unschooling, most commonly called Radical Unschooling.
Everyone is welcome, from those who are just curious about unschooling, to long-time and radical unschoolers, however, if you are looking for support or advice about homeschool curriculum, this is not the group you are seeking.
For purposes of this list, here is a description of unschooling, the parents' role, and some guiding principles:

POSTING GUIDELINES: It is imperative that you take the time to read the above link, and when posting to the list, keep those principles in mind. There will be varied interpretations of what those principles cover, and diverse opinions enrich discussions, but please do not post opinions that are in direct contradiction to those principles. DO discuss your real experiences, observations, and questions, and make real life plans! That's what the group is for!
This is a secular group, so please refrain from using this forum for proselytizing.
Unschooling/Community Events: Feel free to post articles or events of interest at any time, and do consider adding community events that you think unschoolers might be interested in attending to the group calendar as well. Please don't add reminders to the events (with the exception, of course, of park days and activities or field trips that are set up for group members).
