Pan Tadeusz, :)
Wiem, był bohaterem.
ojej ojej...To jest smutna historia. Szkoda...byłoby lepiej oddając jego
rzeczy do polskiego muzeum.
miłego dnia,
Danuta

Polish RAF pilot’s belongings on auction
30.11.2009 15:26
Items which belonged to a Polish pilot, Jozef Jek, who fought in the Battle of
Britain will be auctioned on Wednesday.
The memorabilia include Polish and British military honours, among others the
Virtuti Military cross, the highest Polish military decoration for courage in
the face of the enemy, maps, photos and a uniform.
The items were put on auction by the pilot’s daughter. They were hidden in a
suitcase for 50 years.
Jozef Jek was born in the northern region of Kaszuby. In September 1939, he
served as a corporal pilot in No. 141 Polish Fighter Squadron. After the 1939
Defensive War Jek escaped to Romania and Great Britain.
He fought during the Battle of Britain and shot eight German planes. At the
end of II WW Jozef Jek, already a captain, was the last but one commander of No.
306 Polish Fighter Squadron. After the war he settled down in Great Britain and
continued serving as a pilot
