STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Koinonia is a Greek word that occurs 20 times in the Bible. Koinonia's primary meaning is "fellowship, sharing in common, communion." The first occurrence of koinonia is Acts 2:42, "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

Christian community is a key aspect of the Christian life and our walk with God. Followers of Jesus Christ are instructed to come together in love and faith to encourage and bring out the best in each other. That is the essence of koinonia, and the foundation of the Koinonia Homeschool Cooperative. We covenant to come together in one spirit and purpose to raise and educate our children in a truly Christian environment. We will devote ourselves to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Apostles. We will gather for fellowship and meals together. And, we will acknowledge our love for, and dependence upon, our Lord Jesus Christ in prayer. Koinonia is being in agreement with one another, being united in purpose through Christ, and serving Him alongside each other, students and leaders/teachers alike.

Prospective members are asked to send their name, the names of their children and ages, and a bit of info about why they seek to join with their membership request. Dues are $35 per year and the membership form is available in our database section. Membership fees are due by Aug 30 of each year, or within 2 weeks of being granted access to the loop. All memberships are continegent on the behavior of the student, and may be withdrawn without refund at anytime by leadership.
