Body "Knowing Newport" is an open forum sharing information, questions and ideas pertaining to the city government and public school system in Newport, Rhode Island, USA.

Newport has world class scenery and historical venues. It also faces enormous financial challenges. Through additional citizen interest, involvement, and investment, Newport can make tangible progress towards the goal of operating a world class local government and school system.

The founder and a moderator of this site is a former member and chair of the city's Trust and Investment Commission, former member of the city's Technology Advisory Commission, former member of the Thompson Capital Campaign and former trustee/officer of the Newport Public Education Foundation.
