the embodiment of the the esprit de corps of those who live this dream of yore
shared by all who live this dream of yore. Whatever your dream embodies that
excites your senses and tantalizes your ancestral soul, Estrella War provides
you the means to experience it.

Town Square

Welcome to the Estrella War's Town Square. It is the center of activities as in
times of yore.

You will find a wonderful opportunity to converse with artisans and craftsman's
in a Medieval Village as they ply their trades true to form right from the pages
of history. Peruse the three different artisan showcases (the traditional,
Laurels and Masterpiece) and be prepared to be inspired.

A plethora of special events await you for both your viewing pleasure and
participation, tournaments, auctions, competitions, and even a few participatory
sports. What fun to bat about a shuttlecock, or partake in the Italian game of
Bocci (lawn bowling) or the ever popular Croquet.

The Town square wouldn't be complete without the gentler pastimes, so you will
find plenty of opportunity to sit and socialize over a board game or a welcome
meal from the food court complete with shade pavilions and seating. Just steps
away is Merchant's Row.

To serve your anticipated needs, you will find Chirurgeon's Point, Volunteer's
and Hospitably Point, Herald's Point, the Watch and Autocrate's Point.

In the cool of the evening Estrella War dresses up and comes to the Town Square
for the grandiose parties, dancing, entertainments and the splendor which are
grand courts

Please feel free to forward to other lists.

The Barony of SunDragon is nearing 30 years old.  The SCA is nearing 50 years old.  There are many who have blazed the trail that we all walk and dream on today…but not all of them still walk with us in the flesh.  Our founders, our friends and family, are one by one walking new paths and living new dreams on the other side of the rainbow.

The intended purpose of this event is to share a joyous day of remembrance for our brothers and sisters who have crossed over the rainbow bridge, and to raise funds for a good cause.  All funds raised at this event will go to the Kon Hawk Memorial Fund.

Event is Sunday, December 2, 2012.  There are no site fees for this event.

Site set up begins at 9 AM, site opens at 10 AM, and site closes at app. 5 PM with a ringing of the bell and a calling of names and spoken memories for those who have crossed over the bridge.

Any pop up shades or lightly staked shade pavilions that can be brought and set up are appreciated (no long stakes).  Any extra tables that can be brought and loaned would also be most appreciated.

There will be no courts held, but many announcements will be made.

There will be a memorial table set up; so please bring any photos, mementos, tokens, written verse or tales, etc. that you are willing to share.

Site is Cheyenne Elementary School

87th Ave. one half mile South of Cactus

No alcohol or smoking on school grounds

Leashed pets are welcome

There are many sponsored events planned for the day, and many of them ask for donations to make the event happen.  Please read the descriptions and consider if there is anything you can donate to them.  In general, most events will ask for a $1 donation to put items into the event and for a $5 donation to compete in the events.  For instance, fighters are asked to donate $1 to enter a tournament and sponsors are asked to donate $5 to buy a fighter.  Winning fighters and their sponsors will share in the tournament prizes.  There may be some exceptions to these general rules, and they will be announced on site as the various events occur.  Many events may have more bidders than there are entrants.  In these cases a random draw will take place to determine the successful bidder.

Following are the events that are being sponsored.  There may very well be more, so please listen for announcements on site.

1. Baroness Agnes of Blackfeld is sponsoring a rapier tourney in the memory of Baron Master Yehudah of Nuremberg.

2. Lady Gwenfrewi of Avergarvanny is sponsoring a Shakespearean themed bardic in the memory of Lord Conn McRory O'Brian (aka Kon Hawk).

As Baronial Bard, I will be sponsering a bardic tournament in memory of Kon Hawk. Kon had a special love for all things Shakespeare. To this end, the bardic competion is based around this. Participants are asked to prepare a Shakesperean sonnet, soliloquie, monologue, part of play, etc to perform. Feel free to use artistic liscense and write something original - as long as it's in the style of Shakespeare.
I will provide prizes for a variety of categories:
•Best original poem based on Shakespearean language
•Most inspiring performance (voted on by populace)
•Most humorous performance
•Baron's and Baroness's choice
I would ask that everyone participating make a donation to support the funraising effort of the Rainbow Bridge event.

3. Her Ladyship Gepa of SunDragon is sponsoring an inkle loom weaving class in the memory of Lady Isabella Ruffhammer.

So what exactly is an Inkle loom event?  Glad you asked. If you already know how to inkle loom, bring your loom and enjoy the company of other inkle loomers. If you have an inkle loom at home and forgot how to set it up, bring it, we will help you! If you don't know how to inkle loom, this would be a great place to learn. I will have several looms for you to "practice" on and learn how to set them up.  Time?  I'll be there all day, come when you have the chance.  An added bonus for all who participate in the Inkle loom event, a chance to win the book INKLE bby Evelyn Neher! Participate in the Inkle loom event and fill out a card with your SCA name and contact information. How simple is that?

4. Lord Tomaso De Floreano is sponsoring a rattan tournament in the memory of Lord Otto Blauschild.

This will be a last man standing tournament.  All fighters will get to enter the tournament for free, as Lord Tomaso will be donating their entry fees.

5. Baroness Viola Carrara is sponsoring a lunch basket auction in the memory of Baroness Mistress Alys Carvelsdatter.

Anyone wishing to donate a basket is most welcome.  Baskets will go for $5 each.

6. Baron Master Wilhelus le Casse is sponsoring an unfinished project table in the memory of Lord Seamus an Lann.

When Seamus passed I was given by his wife all of his various needlework projects that he was working on. I have several of my own...as I imagine that many of us do. What a wonderful idea to let go of those old projects and give them to someone else who is willing to work on them?

My fundraiser is an offer for any and all to bring artisan projects that have been started but have languished for whatever reasons. All are asked to donate $1 for each project they place on the table, and to donate $5 for each project they take from the table. These projects can be big or small, of any inspiration, and the taker will do their best to complete the work of those who started it. What they choose to do with it after completion is completely up to them.

7. Lord Alexander Smyth is sponsoring a rattan team cup tourney in the memory of Lord Otto Blaushchild and Lord Wulfie.

Will consist of two man team melee format with Greatsword only.

The teams must have any combination of size but must be different (ex.  One tall, one short, one husky, one skinny).

This will be a double elimination tourney.

The winner will receive the Otto & Wulfie cup.

The winning team has the option of coming back next year to defend the title or to relinquish the title.

Entry fee is $2 per team.

8. Lord Gereon Lautermilch der Betruger is sponsoring a youth tourney in the memory of Lord Michael of Marlborough.

9. Her Ladyship Jacquelin of Normandy and House Manor Rose are sponsoring a luncheon in the memory of Her Ladyship Regan Weissdrachen.

This will be a Hot Dog Luncheon. The luncheon will run from 12:00 Noon and will last until the food is gone. The donation for the luncheon will be $5.00 and all proceeds will go towards the Kon Hawke Fund.

The luncheon will consist of: Two hot dogs with condiments, baked beans, chips and cookies. Additional hotdogs will be available for $1.00 each until they run out.

10. Lady Lann-Valdis O'Davorreanne is sponsoring a carnival type game event in the memory of Dame Jean Clare of Falcons Lair.

To that end...bring the pieces of fabric you don’t want any more...bring the hoops, needles (sewing knitting crochet etc) you no longer use, the trim pieces you no longer desire, pieces of leather that have not found their way into a project, the canvas not yet painted, the elastic not yet used...
There will be table with cups...and balls...toss a ball for a buck and get item in that numbered bag( cups will be numbered).  I will be 'starting' the cache of stuff with some nice items of my own to begin the fun...

11. Baron Master Michael of Worcester is sponsoring a rapier melee tourney in the memory of His Lordship Rodrick the Sly.

I have an OT Question. I am currently seeking new employment and one of the
jobs I am looking at only lists a pay grade instead of an actual salary grad.
Well, since I have never worked for this comany before, it's Greek to me. Could
someone who actually works at Cox Communications please let me know - Off List
Please - what the S18 pay grade translates to?

Many thanks!

Caissene

I apologize for the bandwidth, but I'll take any help I can get. Due to
corporate restructuring my current job is being eliminated at the and of
December. If anyone knows of any companies hiring for an Executive
Administrator, I'd be happy for any leads I could get (off list please). I have
12 years of experience and excellent references. I would prefer something in
the East Valley, but anything in the Metro Phoenix will be looked at.

Thank you!!!!

Greetings Good Gentles of the Glorious Kingdom of Atenveldt~

Estrella War is just around the corner and we are planning an awesome youth activities center for this important event. This going to be a lot of fun and we need many hands to help out. The only requirements to volunteer at Youth Center are you be 18 years of age or older and enjoy working with children.
AN SCA BACK GROUND CHECK IS NOT REQUIRED TO VOLUNTEER as our volunteer’s will be paired up with warranted youth officers that have it.

So, if you want to help make a difference, have fun and can spare a couple of hours to work with our youth at Estrella War, please contact the Kingdom Youth Officer, Lady Edeline de Diekirche at-
