Greetings all.  If you intend to camp with the Barony of SunDragon at this coming Estrella War then we need you to contact us OFFLINE as soon as possible at:

All we need at this point is a list of names for your family or your group that will be camping with you.  We do not need numbers of tents or sizes or kitchen/common areas or anything else at this point...just names.

This head count will be used to help determine how much square footage we will have for the war.  So please be quick and please count only people that are fairly certain that they will be there.  If you host others from outside of SunDragon, please be sure and include them in as well.  Thank you and looking forward to a glorious war.

Please forward this on to any others you feel may need to know this information.

Here are the details for the Bardic Quest on Saturday at Southern Crusades:
Look ye thy gentle bards, if thou art ready to quest, as thou hast intended,
submit ye to three challenges. I charge thee, to find each challenge and  in
finding the first thou shall not fail to find the next. Take heed, pilgrim, to
find thyself victorious whilst on this journey you will have need to bring
fourth laughter, elicit love, and inspire.

Seek me thy self, at the time and place the marshal would inspect the fighters
of our kingdom, and as your eyes drink in the preparations for war, your ears
will find the one who holds the beginning to your quest.

Greetings,

Rogue Haven is looking for several strong willing hands for Estrella. We will
pay your entrance fee, and provide vittles. We will be camping in the Medieval
Village this year and need hands to assist with set up, water hauling, a few
small chores during the war, and break down. I promise you will have plenty of
time to enjoy the war as set up and break down are the busy days the rest is
minimal. I also promise you will be well fed, you can ask around what feast
night is like at Rogue Haven.

Please sent me your interest to carol_nightshade @ hotmail.com.

I wanted to make sure I make time to say thank you to everyone who made
Coronation so amazing and wonderful for me. It has been an honor beyond words
to have been Queen of these glorious lands. I have met so many good people and
had many of those turn into good friends. I have been overwhelmed by the
generosity of Atenveldt. From the clothing that was created for HE Count Sir
Thomas and myself and our spouses, to the delicious feasts and libations that
were created for us to enjoy, to the time and efforts of every person who set up
tents and took them down only to set them up again. The gifts we received were
beyond wonderful and the largesse we were able to gift to other Kingdoms truly
made us proud and made Atenveldt shine with the brightness of the sun (as she
always does in my heart).
Our warriors fought bravely and with determination on every field, our artisans
created such works of beauty and quality as to rival all others we had the
fortune to witness, and without our volunteers this reign could not have
happened as easily or as well as it did (if at all). I had fun spending time
with all my Ladies in Waiting and was more at peace knowing my Guardsmen and
Guards-women were always there for me. I feel like I will never be able to
repay all the kindnesses I received over the last 6-9 months, but that will not
stop me continuing to try to say thank you now as Countess of this beautiful
realm.
Atenveldt, I remain Yours in heart and service,
Countess Ilora von Neunhoff
Long Live The King! Long Live The Queen! Long Live These Glorious Lands of
Atenveldt!
PS: Any Ladies in Waiting and/or Guards that were not able to be at Coronation,
please contact me directly to receive your gift. Those who received Sigils
and/or Cyphers who did not get their t-shirt yet, also please contact me. Thank
you.

Your Excellency:

May I say, that as generous and amazing as our Kingdom is, I believe that it was you and His Excellency Thomas that made it a joy to serve.  As I have been in the society for nigh on 15 years, your reign was exceptionally enjoyable for me.  Many a time, as I sat in the chair next to your throne, was I impressed by your Grace.  You are truly inspiring.

Thank you, and His Excellency for all of the laughter and even for the tears these past months.

In Service,

Baroness Elena
The Barony of Atenveldt.

Greetings All!

On Friday Morning from 9 to 11 am Baron Simon and Baroness Magdalen will teach a court heralding class entitled HOW TO HERALD COURT WITHOUT LOSING YOUR HEAD.  (See your Gatebook for location)

This is an intermediate class focused at heralds who have served as court herald at least once before for either a Landed Baron and Baroness or for the Crown.  Total newcomers are welcome, but may be lost at some of the concepts discussed as a certain familiarity with heraldic terminology is assumed.  Simon will address primarily the art and finesse of vocal presentation as a herald and Magdalen will primarily address the organization and pacing of court from procession through to the court report.  As art and organization overlap in many areas, you will get helpful hints to get you through any court situation that may come your way.

There will be handouts provided for the first dozen students present in class and we will provide additional handouts to any who ask after Southern has concluded.  There will be extra information provided to Tir Ysgithr Heralds regarding ceremony and tradition in the Gem of Atenveldt.

Between us, we have served as court herald for over 9 Royal Reigns in the Kingdom of Atenveldt and have heralded at one time or another for at least 7 Baronial Reigns in the Barony of Tir Ysgithr.   Magdalen has served at Aten Principal Herald and Black Boar Herald and Simon has been called upon to herald for Foreign Kings and Princes from Pennsic War to our Grand and Glorious Estrella War.

Heraldry is one of our great passions, we hope to share that enthusiasm with you and to teach all who will listen to learn better techniques to help them in their own journey as Court Heralds.

See You there!

Come one and all to celebrate a day of remembrance. This will not be a day for
sorrow, but rather one of joy and memory. This event will see the return of the
Barony of SunDragon to fund raising in the names of some of our family members
who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. This is a brand new event, so there
is much that can be made fresh and new. Will you help your family in this
endeavor?

This event will take place at the fighter practice field (Cheyenne Elementary
School) on Sunday, December 2, 2012. Site will open at 10 AM and will close at
sunset. There will be a ringing of the bell and a call for names and stories to
close the event.

What we are asking of the SunDragon family is that they come out to support the
idea of the day and that they offer to volunteer to sponsor some events. There
are all kinds of possible ideas: A Yehudah silly rapier tourney, A Kon Hawke
bardic/story telling competition, an Otto mass weapon tourney, an Otto and
Wolfie team tourney, a Barry Bard knick knack sales table, an Alice's picnic
basket auction, a Blanche's A&S silent auction, and so forth and so on.

Please contact the Baroness and Baron if you have an idea for an event that you
would be willing to sponsor.

Site is Cheyenne Elementary School
87th Ave. one half mile South of Cactus
No alcohol or smoking on school grounds
Leashed pets are welcome

All funds donated at this event will go to the Kon Hawk Memorial Fund.  All funds will be given to the same purpose that the Kon Hawk Memorial Fund was created for.

Site set up begins at 9 AM, site opens at 10 AM, and site closes at 5 PM.  Any pop up shades or lightly staked shade pavilions that can be brought and set up are appreciated (no long stakes).  We can also use tables and flags and heraldry of all sorts.

There will be no courts held, but many announcements will be made.

The following fund raisers have already been sponsored (many more are still needed).  Please consider offering to sponsor a fund raiser!

Baroness Agnes is sponsoring a rapier tourney in the memory of Baron Master Yehudah
Master Simon and Lady Gwen are sponsoring a Shakespearean themed bardic in the memory of Lord Kon Hawk
Her Ladyship Gepa is sponsoring an inkle loom weaving class in the memory of Lady Isabella Ruffhammer

Anyone wishing to sponsor a fundraiser, or anyone with questions, please contact Baron Master Wilhelus le Casse at:  sundragon_coronet@...

There are many potential fund raiser ideas.  Following are just a sample of ideas that could be done:

a hardsuit tourney (single, team, melee)
a youth tourney
A rapier team or melee tourney
an A&S silent auction table
picnic/lunch baskets
a combat archery shoot
a siege weapon shoot

All fighters entering a tourney will need to donate $1 for each competition they enter
Everyone wishing to buy a fighter in a competition will need to donate $5 for each fighter they wish to sponsor
All fighters will be auctioned off as a blind chance draw.  Each person donating 5 dollars will have a fighter drawn at random that they will sponsor.

SUNDAY!!!

Come one, come all!

This Sunday at the Barony of Sundragon Fighter Practice we will hold the annual
Burning Ship tourney in the memory of Rodderick the Sly, DWS.

The format will depend on the number of fighters, but as always, the goal is to
try to escape from the ship before the powder keg blows you to smithereens.

The winner gets to hold the pistols for the next year, and determine the
specifics of the tourney next year.

See you there!

Greetings unto the populace!!

This message is intended primarily for warranted chirurgeons as well as those
seeking to become chirurgeons within this glorious kingdom.

If you are neither of these, you are welcome to keep reading. Otherwise, nothing
to see here, move along. (Just kidding, of course)

As your new kingdom chirurgeon, my first initiative is to facilitate better
communication among members of the chirurgeonate. To that end, I have created 2
useful tools.

There is now a Yahoo group for chirurgeons in Atenveldt. It can be found at the
following address:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/atenveldtchirurgeons/

It is a moderated group.

Also, I have started a Facebook page exclusively for chirurgeons within the
kingdom (chirurgeons-in-training are also welcome). If you would like to be
invited to the group, hit me up.

It is my sincere hope that with these two resources, we will be able to better
communicate and coordinate the needs within the chirurgeonate and, ultimately,
the kingdom.

In service to the Kingdom and the Dream,

Seigneur Gefroi le Gris

Barony of Atenveldt Yule

HEAR YE, HEAR YE!! Their Excellencies Seelos and Elena wish to extend their invitation to the populace to join them in celebration of the Yule Tide season. This year's celebration will have a Russian theme. Please join our celebration in any festive garb.

During the celebration, there will be: children's activities, music, dancing, and more. To make the occasion more festive, we will have a contest for the best table center piece—so come prepared to amaze our judges.

In addition, there will be a collection box on site for donations to Her Excellency's favorite cause, assisting veterans in need. Details of specific needs will be forthcoming.

And what is a celebration without a feast? In period times, salt was a costly commodity and food served in the great hall was distinguished between what was served "above the salt" and "below the salt". Our feast will be delicious for all, but those who wish to partake of the above these salt feast will be served additional delicacies.

time with period games. See as we gather for a play while we have warm drinks.
The Court of the Crown as they sit in the radiance of the Aten sun. Was this a

Then we need to know the names of those wishing to camp within SunDragon lands.  Please contact us at:

We need names, if they are out of Barony or out of Kingdom, and if they are certain or not.

We have already received 65 names, but have “rumors” of at least one camp with 40 or more, and several other camps with as yet unreported numbers.

This information has to get to us now!  We have to report total numbers in just a couple of weeks.
