Born January 2nd, 1973. Is an american comic book
artist, comic book writer, and publisher. He attended
Paier College of art and graduated in June of 96.
Murphey was a student of NYC illustrator Timothy
O’Brien and studied under silver age artist Frank
Mcglufkin. Upon graduation he did work for Blue comet
press. In the fall of 2000 he founded the Comic Book
Artists guild CAG with the help of his friend and
partner Robert King. Numerous branches soon opened in
NYC and Mass. The first CAG anthology was published in
the fall of 2001. The anthology became a bi-annual
book in the summer of 2007 with the release of the CAG
West Coast anthology. The publication of the books
lead to several of his original stories including,
Zombie Hunters, Silliman Farm, The Commander, and
Rockabilly Rex.
Murphey began a new publishing company in the Spring
of 2006 called Guild Works Productions GWP with the
help of his friend and business partner Mark Mazz. The
company’s first horror anthology entitled; “Psychosis”
was released with positive reviews in October of 2006.
Murphey developed the property Hell’sblood in 2007
with its creator Hector Rodriguez. www.hellsblood.net
