The Kentucky Soldiers Aide Society is a family oriented re-enacting group. Made up of members from Kentucky and its border states,our impression is that of a unionist aide society. The group can provide a full aide society impression complete with meals cooked in the field., comfort bags for the troops as well as cold lemonade and water as well as a light snack after a long hot day. We also portray ordinary citizens going about their daily routines. Of late we have had the opportunity to interpret a historic home in Perryville KY by actually living in the house for a weekend.
Most commonly referred to as KYSAS (pronounced Kay'-Sass), the group has gained recognition from the Kentucky Historical Society, The Friends of the Farnsley-Kaufman House and Camp Nelson Heritage Park as well The Perryville Revitalization Main Street Project. KYSAS is also active in presenting history to school children throughout the year and members have also done presentations to a collegiate audience.

Our mission is to educate through living history, support the various historic properties that we interpret and to provide a safe, family friendly environment for those who wish to honor the past through living history.
