Don't Drink The Water
Your committee are taking all recommended steps to ensure your safety.
We have been advised that we should not use our post mix machine or
ice making machine. Small bottles of cola and lemonade are available
to purchase. We also have bottles of water on sale. Any ice that we
use will be bought in. The kitchen staff is also following all
recommended procedures.
Smoking Area / Garden
Our neighbours have very politely requested that we moderate our
language and keep the volume down to reasonable levels whilst in the
smoking area and in the garden.
They have also politely asked that we do not sit on their wall. (Also
some people thought that it was a good idea to throw their empty
glasses and bottles into their garden along with a couple of plastic
chairs.)
If we do not respect their privacy and right to a peaceful existence
in their own homes we may reasonably expect them to take the matter
further.
They have done the decent thing and given us fair warning. So could
we please also do the decent thing and give them due respect?
There are already a wide number of laws controlling noise. Neighbours
can bring a claim in the county court alleging nuisance, and seek an
injunction to stop further disturbance.
Under the Environmental Protection Act, local authorities can take
action if a noise constitutes a statutory nuisance. Equally, they can
make a closure order where public nuisance is being caused by noise –
thanks to the Anti-Social Behaviour Act.
Under the Licensing Act 2003 the police can apply for a closure where
there is disorder or where public nuisance is being caused by noise
from the premises.
Parents are reminded that children are only allowed in the garden
with the adult who is responsible for them. It only takes one person
to spoil it for everyone else.
Concert Room Hire
After this month we only have 4 Saturdays up to the end of the year
that the concert room is still available for hire. The dates
available are Aug 30th Sept 13th and Dec 20th & 27th. We already have
bookings for next year even one for next November.
The cost to hire the room is £120 so if you have something to
arrange, get in touch with Barry Quickly.
Redtooth Poker
Q: How does the league work?
A: Each club has it's own league and these run for 13 week seasons.
Each club will have it's own winner at the end of that season. After
each season Redtooth will run a regional final for the area where
someone will be crowned winner.
Once per year (after 4 seasons) Redtooth will hold the national
finals, this will be a very prestigious event at a central location
with high end equipment, professional dealers and poker celebrities
in attendance as well as large screens and full production similar to
some of the televised events you will have seen. The winner of this
tournament will become the Redtooth Poker League National Champion.
We hope to start our own Tuesday night league soon, for any member
interested in taking part, add your name to the notice facing the
doorman's booth.

Jokes
Thanks to Karen for contributing the following Amazing Home Remedies.
1. Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone
else to hold the vegetables for you.
2. Avoid arguments with females about lifting toilet seats by using
the sink.
3. For high blood pressure sufferers, simply cut yourself and bleed
for a few minutes thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember
to use a timer.
4. A mousetrap placed on top of your alarm clock will prevent you
from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze
button.
5. If you can't fix it with a hammer, you have got an electrical
problem.

success in the pair's averages with Nigel Crane and Martin Biggs
winning a close fought final against Monks Park.
In the Snooker. Kingsley "B" team won their division with a total of
98 points. Unfortunately the "A" team finished last in their league.
Both teams are very appreciative of the support given to them by the
